UTEC Problem

I just installed UTEC and Switch.

I don't think it doesn't really work well.

First, I don't know about wires on the Switch purple, white and red, white.

I heard from some one those wires don't need for Evo so I just leave them.

I tried several modes 6(valet mode), 7(security mode). I saw manual, it says valet mode can't go above 5000 rpm but i tried it doesn't work.

what is wrong with this?? please help.. do I have to connect to my laptop first??

T-T

First make sure your UTEC is set in run mode and not program mode.. Thats the most common problem..

the Switch is plug and play.. so the big molex plug just gets plugged in.. the Red wire and black wire are for a solenoid and do not need to be used. The extra wires from the switch (the two wires not connected to anything) are not used in our car, its used on the WRX.

Also, be certain that the switch on the UTEC itself is set to 0.. If it is not, the remote switch won't function as expected.

And when you get a chance, connect a laptop to it and look through the screens and get familiar with it.. It'll also give you the chance to verify its working right by looking at the dashboard of the program (D command off the menu)

If you reach around to feel the switch in the glove box.. (The toggle switch in the square opening on the forward surface of the UTEC facing away from you..) it should be DOWN.. if its UP its in program mode (I think) Check the documentation but I think thats right..

Definetly connect the laptop and go to dashboard make sure the UTEC iself is on 0..

Those other wires connected to the switch are for the Subaru launch control, they hook to the clutch switch so you are correct to disregard them for the Evo..
