Is there a way to make the turbo spool quicker?

From a mechanical standpoint, its only going to spool as quick as the turbo and exhaust flow will allow..

However, you can create a boost map that helps..

1) You can install the MAP sensor and use closed loop boost control and calibrate from there

2) You can use larger numbers in earlier columns of your boost map, for instance, at 40% instead of having 40 for instance, you can set it to 60 or 70..

Keep in mind the more aggressive you do this, the more likely you will get boost spikes and you do need to take that into account.

my boost map starts at 40% with a 70 duty cycle, going up to 100 duty cycle at 70% Column, then the remaining columns at 100

It will take a bit of tweaking based on your car and mods, but it works for me, gets a 22psi spike settling to 19 or 20psi Remember your tuning MUST account for that spike.

Also you can tune for spool-up, but like jack said a map sensor would help.. You can run leaner on pre-spool, and spool, till a certain PSi then you would want to start to taper your afr so you hit your target afr towards your tq peak.. I usually run in the neighborhood of 13.5:1 or 14:1 till 6-7 psi then i taper down smoothy.. You want to use your egt guage for this, and get the egt's nice ang hot down low then once you start to build boost tapering the afr down to keep egt's in check once the boost starts to build.
