Hi guys,

The warranty issues will be addressed as they are received. We have already sent out replacement exhaust systems for several warranty cases that filed their claims several months ago.

You guys must keep in mind that:

1. There were only a batch of 25 or so defective exhausts released.
2. We must seek approval from the Helix and its factories for replacement
3. The Helix warranty lead time is MUCH faster than any of the other major players. I'm not going to name names, but we have had to wait MONTHS for many of the other bigger players
4. Some of the warranty claims we have received - these exhaust systems are not part of the defective batch. We will work with each customer individually on their issues.

Thanks,

Gary

So whats the difference between the defective ones and the one that arent?

Im guessing mine was a defect one because I havent gotten an email giving me other ideas on getting it fixed.

Do you have to ship the old exhausts back? or what do we do with them.

LOL
I haven't seen any Helix V1 Cat back that fits! If it was only 25 why would you even bother to relase V2? I say screw that lie!
You promised me the new catback and you have never contacted me since this V2 came out. and You decieved me with sweet words like "If I have it in stock I will replace yours right now" when you didn't have that in stock.

First of all I told Daniel at Gruppe-S I wouldn't whine or flame on this forum. I was offered to ship my exhaust to Gruppe-S and have it modified to fit. I declined their offer and am accepting the fact that I will have to replace this flawed product on my own dime. Fine, that happens sometimes when you are a consumer in the auto aftermarket. But I do have concerns that I think need to be addressed for the benefit of others who are confused or want to know what is going on with this issue. So that is why I am posting this on an open forum instead of through private means.

If you know that there were twenty five defective catbacks, shouldn't you also know which ones they were and who bought them?

What exactly is the defect with these twenty five have that cause them to be warrantable?

Is it only bumper burning or is there more to it?

If it is bumper burning then only twenty five Helix exhausts do it. I don't believe anyone would want to replace a non-defective exhaust, so somebodies warranty request has to be deserving of replacement. And there should be no more than twenty five requests.

Finally (and this maybe my bridge burner), if Helix and Gruppe-s are different entities altogether, why are their phone numbers and fax numbers the same (Helix warranty form compared to Gruppe-s website)?

Fuels,

You hit the nail exactly on the head. I left Gary a voicemail just today and I pray that I get a call back. Not too sure I believe only 25 exhausts were defective...perhaps Gary meant that 25 exhaust warranty claims were submitted. In any case, there has been debate about whether Helix and Gruppe-S is the same. Do a thread search or just look at my post history. You can also PM me as to what I think. I am not burning any bridges yet....still awaiting my exhaust. If none comes there will be much hell to pay.

Hey guys,

We are working with each individual customer regarding their warranty claims, as each warranty claim is different. As it stands, we were given 8 cat-backs this shipment (out of 25pcs) that are designated for warranty claims. The 8 cat-backs were for warranty claims that were submitted in mid-2005. Those that have submitted new warranty claims in the last few weeks will need to be patient, as the older warranty claims will be taken care of first. Those that have submitted warranty claims in 2005 and have NOT yet received their replacement or tracking number for their replacement need to contact me directly (my e-mail is below). YOU GUYS WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF.

gary@gruppe-s.com.

I am now closing this thread because we are dealing with several legitimate claims and several individuals attempting to get something for nothing.

You guys have to keep in mind that warranty claims sometimes take a long time. Those that have waited 6-12 months for Greddy replacement gauges or HKS replacement clutches know this.

Please direct any questions / comments directly to my e-mail address. Your concerns and warranties will be responded to in a timely fashion and on an individual basis.

Thanks,

Gary
