This statement is 100% false ...... this dampener has a teflon/nylon bushing with a hard rubber bushing...not no spring so please correct the discription.
You may be right as every other ones I have used/seen has hard rubber bushing. No spring inside.

Any way of getting a blank for the opposite side to go under the strut brace? Or better yet, design a master cylinder brace to go on the driver side

Oh hahah that was me! My friend needed a cavalier mirror and being that he's from China and has no clue how to use ebay, I just ordered it for him.

You want to use those two machined spacers as an adapter to go into the spherical beaings at the end of the shock. That keeps the shock from having too much horizontal play. Shoot me an e-mail and I"ll grab a pic if you're still having problems.
