Gruppe-S experince

Everything with these guys was just fine, I ordered it with friendly service and it arrived when specified. The only complaint is obviously I had to tell them how to package the product too. I had ordered a fuel pump, and rear strut bar+the trunk bar by Cusco. Well they used to strut bar box and just placed the fuel pump in there with NO padding what so ever for the fuel pump. So, needless to say I received the package with a fuel pump with a broken plastic plug in for the electrical. THANKS GRUPPE-S I guess when these guys say FREE SHIPPING they spare no expense or wisdom in packaging your product! Next time guys try using a box that is made for more than one (including size) product!!! Good thing I didn't order a clutch and fuel pump from them (btw, you lost a future customer).

Did you call them up to have them fix the problem? Its pretty extreme to say never buy thing from a vendor just because some parts is damage during transection. If they gave you an atitude or avoid to fix the problem afterward then its understandable. I've ordered a few parts from them and never had any problems at all. They are helpful and polite on the phone and shipping is fast. I will definitely buy from them again.

Well considering it was such an obvious thing, meaning they knew what they were doing. It was not a simple mistake. I would rather deal with a vendor that takes a little more care in packaging your product correctly the first time instead of risking damage. What's the point really? they save a few bucks in what might cost them a lot more later? I didn't contact them because I needed the fuel pump in now and I had to make do. Do I agree the service was decent other than the packaging ? Yes, but I would rather not risk it happening again when I can just use a vendor (there are a lot of them out there) that does a good job the first time.

I usually have very good experiences with Gruppe-S. Sorry to hear you had such a negative one. Cal @ Gruppe-S is very good at sorting out problems when they occur.

i understand that you are mad but i have to disagree with you on this one. i have been a costumer of them for 2 years now and i have never had ANY problems with them. i do know of a few people that did have problems but the best part about gruppe-s is their costumer service. i am sure that if you would give them a call, they will jump through hoops to make it good. going on line about something like that is not the right thing to do IMHO. even vendors make mistakes, it is only fair to give them a chance to make things right.

this link alone should tell you that they do get it the first time around and that they are one of THE BEST vendors out there.

Most vendors (no matter what kind of products) will make you ship them back whatever it is that is to be an RMA. They will make you pay for the shipping too and might even want to charge you to have the new product shipped back out to you. Most dont give you a discount or anything. This is the standard practice on anything ordered. If they were willing to pay for overnight shipping to get one out to you quick and you had called them immediatly (I heard they work at 1AM on a Sat. see thread above) I dont see how you could be upset. Otherwise you are right in your rant. They shouldn't have packaged it like that and the risk might not be worth your buisness. These arent toys afterall. However every one makes mistakes and maybe it was just a new guy in shipping.

My 2 cents

Well the point of the thread was a bit of a rant and to give people a little insight on what they might be in for if they ordered from them. Their non-existant packaging did break a good bit off the plastic but I was still able to use it. Now if the pump will have a normal lifespan/function to spec or not is another question. I guess I will see.

The guys at Gruppe-S are great especially Cal...the customer service is great and they have the best prices.

My last purchase was a gauge panel, when the package arrived my shipping and receiving department was making fun of the packaging...sure enough the panel was damaged. This was just the one and only time I had this problem.

Shipping and packaging issue aside...I think how the company will deal with your problem speaks volumes of there commitment to customer service. Gruppe-S has never failed to address problems when they arise. That is why I will still buy from them and strongly recommend Gruppe-S to any other potential customer.

I ordered a Cusco trunk bar from them last week. On their website it states they can only ship to a different address than is on your credit card if that address is registered as a secondary address with the card vendor. Well, I have both home & work addresses listed on my card and I did as they requested and put my work's address in the special comments field asking for it to be shipped there. They shipped it to my house. I was a little upset about this as I didn;t want to have to drive to the Fedex office to pick it up or have it sitting in the driveway all day long. I e-mailed them telling them this and they apologised and stated they would claim responsibility if the package went walking. OK, fair enough. However, the wife got home before I did and that resulted in an *** reaming . But, when I went to install it I checked the thread (https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...usco+trunk+bar) to check installation procedure which was stated to be, "all you have to do is bolt the bar down with 2 bolts provided by the Cusco Trunk Bar package." Yeah, right. No comments about how you have to cut 3 feet of plastic out of your trunk to make it work. Had I known I had to cut the rear of my trunk panel then I would never have bought it.

In a nutshell, they won't be getting any further business from me either. No hard feelings and I won't bad mouth them; just passing on my experience. They also need to improve their shipping department.

Granted but the fact of the matter is they had no protection for the fuel pump that was placed in the same thin long box as the *metal* strut bars in a little plastic bag. This to me is gross incompetence and I wont even bother speaking to them as they have obviously done it many times.

I must apologize for not being clear on this subject due to my inexperience w/ this particular product. I wasn't aware of cutting stock trunk panel. And I can totally understand if you are not happy with cutting that panel.

Again, my sincere apologies.

Best regards,

Cal

Well just from this post...........let say hypothetically.....2 out of 500 customers are not happy with Gruppe-s so I guest I won't buy from them...............YA Right. These are are great people and very happy to help out in anyway they can. Like the other guys said, instead of ranting right away why didn't you call them up of the situation. Maybe they could have done something like a discount on the next purchase. It's kinda funny too with UFO when his wife found out about the part he ordered. It seems like we know who wears the pants around the house.
