GSC 2.2 Engine

Just kinda curious when will be the release date for this beasty engine. Has this engine been tested for longivity and durability? Who is currently using this engine as of right now? Any info on the engine: horsepower level, compression, what type of piston, rods, crank, bearing and of course the price? Tia

I think there are 2 in existence right now.... & they might be alittle more custom than the regular GSC 2.2 that is going to be released in the near future.

I am only breaking mine in right now & I am suffering from a boost problem... but that should be solved before I hit the track this weekend. But this engine wants to boost... it wants to go!

you can find a little more info on the engine on my blog. check it out...

Nice, I love the valve cover too. So, pending the cash flow for the turbo and other supporting mods, what is the goal? rock solid 450awhp? 500 on race gas?

Are you thinking the twinscroll 3076? I believe that setup would spool almost as quick as your 20g and stock block but insane top end. I am very curious in this setup maybe next year but probably on stock block for now.

Ya i'm thinking the 3076 would be pretty sweet. I think Kyle from hot lap is using that same turbo and he's killin people. Everyone and their mother has a 35r on like a "busch" block. So different motor, different turbo, different car, difficult name Sounds like a winner

nils,

how's the car coming along? Haven't seen any update lately. Did you get the motor/fueling issue sorted out?

waddup Bryce...

I am patiently waiting on my friend to finish up his racecar before he will rebuild my block. Beggers arent choosers

Got all the parts waiting to go in... I've actually had them for a while but I just dont have the experience to put it all together with confidence. We did already replace the fuel system, new filters, pump, fpr etc...

If everything goes smooth the engine should be together tonight, lets hope!

I dont have alot of $$ right now so I bought a used ATP 3076r kit for the car. Unfortunately, my 20g-5 died with the engine

As soon as I have anything worth mentioning I'll update my site.

The project car has the 2.2 and all I can so far is this thing is fast. I can't give away too much about the specs (magazine needs to publish the article first, sorry), but all I can say is this motor mated with a 60 trim is insane. We actually now have to figure out how to keep this thing from lifting off the ground (needs aero bad. )
