In 1973 HKS was established in Japan. A year later, HKS produced the worlds first turbocharger kit for the Nissan Skyline (GC100) L20 engine. In doing this they were able to produce 40% more power than stock, all while leaving everyone in shock and awe!

HKS has developed their Turbocharger kits for every day street use and motor sport competition. They have tested these environments, collected the data, and improved on designs time and time again. HKS does all of their turbocharger manufacturing in house at their headquarters in Japan which allows for outstanding quality control. Is the GTII 8262 Turbocharger offered for the 8/9 I am currently using the GTII 7460

 

how do you like this turbo? how much power are you making?

I have honestly heard some great things and some horror stories about this turbo, has the warranty gotten better than It was before? Do we still have to send this turbo back to HKS if it sees failure?

The 8262 turbocharger is only for the Evo X at the current moment.

 

In regards to your warranty question, the warranty is 120 days from purchase. This warranty only covers manufacturer defects. If the turbo does see a failure, it does have to go back to HKS in Japan to have it rebuilt.

 

I have had this turbo for about three years and have had zero issues. I put down about 430 or so on e85. Was hoping that the new one was made for us :-/

How much whp is the gt3037s turbo kit good for? Is this the same turbo that was used in your kit when the evo 8 first came out?

 

The GT3037 Turbo kit is good for about 500WHP, give or take depending on supporting modifications or tuning.

 

Hello, can the HKS Evo 8 inter-cooler be used with stock piping? Really I am wanting to know if it can be used with ETS short route upper and lower piping for stock turbo.
