Well, if you were fooling with the fuel system (which you must have to install the FMU) that would explain the lag on the first startup or two. It was probably building fuel pressure to expel any air from the lines.

I figured as much, I was still nervous though. I was even more nervous trying to prime the oil line, the second and third crank I thought something might be wrong, but on the fourth oil finally came out.

ya know ... I can speak for myself on this board

Yeah, just got the RRM IC kit for an auto, off of Vince (Guru_Del). Even though my car isn't an auto, I still got his kit because I didn't mind putting my battery in the trunk. I can really feel the bottleneck in the exhaust though. I have stock cat and midpipe, and the RMR axle-back. The stock cat and pipe will be replaced in the spring. I've done enough work on the car for a while.

The RRM kit is really plug and play. You throw it on, drive it nice for a bit, recheck all fluids, bolts, vacuum & fuel lines, and you're good to go. Since I have a used kit, I didn't need to really break in the parts, just had to drive nicely to let the stock ECU relearn everything.

Good luck picking a kit, it's a fun project.
