Question RRM Turbos

Hello everyone. Has anyone here gotten the RRM Hacker / Tweeker Turbo Starter Kit? Just wondering how it would do and what else i would need to get Oh, and the "turbo" exhaust manifold.... If i get that and a different turbo, like one of ebay from a GSX, would THAT work and what else would i need. I am totaly turbo clueless as for what i need, i know what stuff does, i just dont know what i need to get it to work and how much money i am going to have to spend. I would like to go cheap and i dont want an extreme amount of boost. Just enough to get my lancer up to 200 whp. Any info will help

thanks

First off, don't plan on getting 200hp with the hacker kit. Not going to happen unless you do alot of work with that kit. I would suggest staying away from any of the ebay turbo kits. To me those things are a little iffy. If you got a turbo you deffinately would need a header, don't need one but it will perform better, along with a good exhaust system.

interesting how the 'search' ***** have dried up around here

you can run 200whp with the hacker/tweaker kit if you can replicate the same pieces that are in the RRM stage 1 kit, which is totally doable. a lot cheaper if you can fabricate yourself. otherwise, you'll be payin almost the same amount as the whole stage 1 kit if you have to pay someone to fabricate the missing pieces. the list of stuff are in this forum somewhere.

my bad. im slackin, havent been on much in teh past week or i would have uttered teh holy words.

what i think the original poster doesnt realize is that you cant just get the HT kit. its missing several essential parts such as the piping from teh compressor to teh tb and the intake piping for example if you jsut want to stay non-intercooled. it would be easier to jsut buy a complte kit, but getting the HT kit will save you some money.

look into getting a muffler shop to make you the remaining pipes and you can get an intercooler of ebay for really cheap. there are many other parts that you would need to get that would be able to get off ebay for cheaper such as a bov from another car.

From what you stated in the original post and the amount of posts you have overall, I feel it would be safe to assume you're new to the car modding scene. Assuming that, I would suggest not getting the hacker kit. Keep an eye on the for sale forum and you can get a pretty good deal there if the pricing is the issue. If you want a new kit, I would suggest just going all out for the RRM intercooled kit. If you wouldn't mind diving in to some tuning, I would suggest getting the TurboKits.com turbo kit. I wouldn't get the hacket kit unless you have some connections to people who can fabricate piping and know thing or two about fuel management.
