ES vs. GS

S vs. OZ

SX hatch vs. OZ (not like it really matters which Lancer we compare it to)

Make of it what you will.

eeek... Thats bad....

No the OZ is heavier than the rest of the Lancers and I can't believethe auto cars are lighter than the 5spds!!!

The SX Hatch is only 2600lbs... thats light!...

Now the OZ in 2700 and change.. If we can get a SC and Black Box in that car.. we can put down.... let say.... 225-/+@7-9psi....

If the 5spds gearing is good and we can get some traction..... I bet we can touch a 12sec quarter mile pass.

Beacuse 225@ the wheels is 281-/+ at the crank... 12SEC 2500 LBS cicvics with slicks click off 12sec passes all the time.... not bad!

Does anyone know the gearing ratios of the trans?

Just so you know Ross, the black box probably won't work directly with the mitsu electronics in the Lancer. For one thing, the RPM signal isn't all fugly like it is in the V6 Eclipse. I guess that could be considered a good thing.

TURBO!!! im NOT saying the aerio is a better car!!! its a POS death trap! but im juss saying that could have done a lil better job tuning the engine. 120 is weak. im saying that, i forgot who makes the aerio, hitachi? jk....but they can get a 160 hp engine in theres, why not get a 130- or 140 hp engine in the lancer?!?!? the lancer is a great car, i was following my friends cavalier the other day and he took a turn and i couldnt believe all the body roll...i juss laughed and took the turn ahhhh.....domestics

i built a custom turbo setup for $1,470, mind you its not intercooled, but it works just great, it now feels like the money i paid for the car is worth it.

i was at a shop the other day checking the price on a vortech supercharger, i know nobody makes a kit for it for the lancer yet, but i was wondering if i could just make a bracket and get a pulley made and then do the intake piping, but the guy at the shop said i could do all that but i would need a programable computer and that the cheap ones like aem wouldn't work and the computer would be like 5-10k. but link what computer are you running? they said the stock ecu woulnd't be able to deal with boost.

This is true if the ecu monitors airflow from a MAP sensor. You need to relocate the sensor and run it off of a vaccum line so you don't get a direct flow reading.

However the Mitsu's ecu runs a MAF sensor and I maybe wrong but I think you wouldn't have this problem as with the MAP sensored ecus.

However you would need to get a fuel management system because your ecu is programmed to run N/A and would not be able to compensate enough fuel for boost.

The cheapest way to do this would be to use a boost dependent regulator, like a Vortech FMU with 8:1 or 12:1 ratio and a larger fuel pump.

The next higher cost level would be to run something like a SAFC and larger injectors.

And of course the most costly and most efficient system would be to run a stand alone ecu with larger injectors and fuel pump.

cool so if i got a safc, larger injectors and fuel pump, the supercharger and made my own bracket and piping and had a pulley made i could run a super? anything else i'm forgetting? also do you know how much the pulley would cost? or does anybody know a pulley that would be easy to modify?

thanks

We are in the middle of making a SC kit for this car. One club memeber has come to the shop and had us take some measurments. It looks doable....

We can get a Vortech Supercharger in the Lancer in kit form. Is there a market?

it was a used turbo off a 3000gt vr4 jap engine, had 20k miles on it, got it and just started to build around it, gauges, electronics, exaust, oil, water, then intake side.
