RIPP SDS 4cyl kit DONE and Dyno'd (Automatic)
Cool ... these are good questions.
To date 40 SDS kits are on the road and not one engine failure, including the 1st tester.
We are not in the business of blowing cars up.
We are not a huge company and simply cannot afford to give product away. Do you realize how much it costs to have CNC design and machining done? Each One off kit costs us into the $20k, your literally paying for a finished product not a tester. the tester will receive a 100% running kit not a trial and error kit. We need the first guy for measurements not ... try this and see if it works ... deal!
I welcome all questions and criticism ... but please understand we are hands on tuners with hands on experiences. We are not a multimillion dollar business with money to spare and an airplane hanger full of machinery and trust me we're really not in it just for money. We are motivated by success and strong running kits. We were tired of people bringing us junk to install ... so we made our own. To date this year we invested well over $100,000 in R and D. and all the money we got back we reinvested.
I welcome you to visit the Club3G and try to find negative press on RIPP Modifications Inc. We have been on there from day one with our kit and it started in the same fashion.... Once we started and committed ourselves we won't let you down. We want to be the Saleen new Mitsu's need to be competitive on the street and track.
We know we are labeled as a newbie, but trust us the last thing we are is new to Reliable Forced Induction Kits.
Regards,

I'm sorry... I have this set up under Rippmods@aol... please send all further E mails to

I'm eager to see the outcome of this.
I don't think that anyone questions RIPPs integrity, but, realize that some of the less open minded members have a tendancy to doubt any company (other than RRMs) statements, and distrust anyone without a namebrand.

RIPP...what is the expected downtime for the first tester? like i said before I can come down there any day, i just have to make it back into jersey for work in the evenings. If i can come up with the money i'd definately want to work with you guys in making this kit. it sounds very promising. I have a MT so we can see what the kit can really do. let me know how long you think my car would be down if i was the first tester.
For the moment we only need you to come in for a look-see. We would need to match it up to the Galant kit and build of it. But its hard to tell until we get one in to see the cars.
I believe there are memebers in Staten Island, long Island and New Jersy that are willing to come by. We contacted them Via E mail, asked them to give us a call and come by.
We would need both (auto/5spd) cars to fit the kit that way we can make one kit fit both cars.
Thanks guys

I feel another reliable company coming on board.....can't wait to see the outcome...when you guys finish the kit, I'll buy one....I'd do it know but CA is a little far for A&D purposes.
I picked the Galant 4CYL Supercharged up from the DYNO today. On its maiden voyage it got into a "Light-to-light" with a BMW 330ci..... guess the guy in the BMW didn't expect to lose but I had him all the way to 90+MPH. I didn't hear him shifting so it must have been an automatic.
The car is deceivingly faster than it seems.. it pulls strongly right from the start spinning the front tires under acceleration. (This is an automatic.) Shifts its gear and it pulls strong up to 70~ top of 2nd then shoots past 80+mph towards 90~ right into 3rd gear and you head towards 100+ very very fast. The torque accelerates this car real nice at higher speeds.
This car we opted not to bypass any boost and is pulling rather strongly without it. The best part is when we beat that car (BMW) we were DATA logging wide open throttle passes ONLY, It was only making between 3-4psi the SC belt was slipping it had been left loose after we tested different boost pulleys.
Davin (owner of test Galant) was in today to go for a blast and was all smiles ear to ear after going for a blast. "Just hearing it spool up" under acceleration was enough for him.
Its gone smooth so far and they are only going to get more powerful from here. These are our base line numbers, we speculate as more kits are installed and more maps are written we will find more HP for you to play with.

Update Lancer:
OK we looked at 2 US Lancers (I went to a dealer today and one of the board members(smokedup) came by). Thanks very much for coming by.
It seems very do-able. The heads are bolt the same (As the Galant) but the blocks are different.
It seems it can be done within a small time frame.
The ECU maps will need to be re-written and the passenger side of the kit will need to be reengineered, but for the most part dosen't seem to be a problem. We will need to look at the fuel system in terms of the pump and fuel pressure regulator, but these are all things that can be taken care of.
Now its just a matter of a tester coming on board for the project. A time frame cannot be given but a few weeks is a good start. In all, the Galant took 9 weeks from start to finish. This means we need your car for fittment on and off in those weeks, so our scheduals need to mesh. Thats why we want a tester in the Tri State Area.
It all up to you guys now.... remeber you will need to only pay for parts ($3400-3600) and any additional work you want us to perform (suspension, brakes, gauges) the rest is on us. The install the Dyno time and tuning. You will receive a 100% running car, with your only responsability being to do some data logging for us.
We will also be able to sponsor you for magazine coverage. So if your cars HOT it will get in! The Stratus R/T we did got in on a Phone call sight unseen.
Thanks guys,
Ross Esposito

it's true...i went to RIPP yesterday. they run a very nice operation over there. the supercharger looks very good on the galant, the pictures just dont do it justice. Everyone over at RIPP is very cool, they answered all my questions and we sat there and bull****ted for a few minutes. If I had the money for the kit right now i'd buy it in a heartbeat.
I think the whole EvolutionM.net community is very lucky that we have such good vendors here.

Based on what I've been reading it seems to have sparked an intrest. The only problem is that it does cost money to make a kit of our caliber. We would need to see if there is a market.
On our end we can promise a very Powerful and reliable kit.
We just need to see the proof that your end is supportive in our investment.
