True! and you also won't be able to find a manifold with the right flange for a T4 for the 4g94 block.

Get a manifold and get a welder to change the flange to whatever you need. If you're willing to go turbo... you should be willing to shell out the $$$. And btw... even if it's seems like a good deal, you'll still need some piping and fuel management crap. It's not all that much, but keep in mind you need it.

I would recommend you not do it? Unless you do alot of homework and modifications to all the lines and crap. It's going to take a while to put together and plus that turbo is huge for this motor. People are blow there motor on T28's that are pushing 10-12psi. Plus our motors only rev out to like 6500. By the time the turbo kicks in your shifting and wont get the full potential of the turbo. At least go with a TSI kit and make mods from that kit if your going to do a cheap kit. Dont over kill or you'll be sorry. Do your homework before rushing into. There is much more into a turbo kit than just slapping one on and it working and you making a million horsepower.

Bingo. Flanges aside, I wouldn't wanna put up with that much lag. You'd be better off with a T3/T04 hybrid. I personally wouldn't go larger than a T3 turbine wheel on this motor.

Understatement of the millenium in my case.

then what size turbo would you recomend? also, what kind of fuel management should i get? I just got a job where my college student *** is making 26$/hr. so in a month thats roughly 2800$. but i dotn want to shell out over 4k for this project. i just want a nice kit that wont hurt my stock internals over long time.

If you don't want to spend more than $4,000 total, don't do turbo your car. Period. It WILL cost more in the long run.

Again, I wouldn't recommend a larger turbine wheel than a T3. They make so many variations of compressors for them you could have a field day with it, and the T25 and T28 are always solid low and mid-sized turbos respectively. There's tons of turbos out there, read up and figure what suits you best. Don't expect to be boosting 20lbs though.

the rrm brown nosers will come in here and tell you the rrm kit, but it is overpriced and you could make your own kit for less. if you do your research you could do it yourself like hobie and airquez. but still do not think that you wont be paying out your anus for a turbo, it costs a truckload and really isnt worth it imo.

You won't pay out your *** if you can fabricate your own piping, manifold an downpipe. Chances are if you could do that you wouldn't be posting here though. Assuming I already had all the skill and welding equipment I needed (of which I have neither), I'm certain I could piece together a T28 or T3 kit for less than $2g. Knowledge is power, but in this case it's skill that saves you big bucks.

Just for reference, 7psi would barely be spinning for a T4. You'd be better off using a T25 if 7psi is your end goal. Its has faster spool characteristics, and it won't be overkill like the T4 would be.

I think i did my whole kit for like $2400 at very most. Bought the TSI (T-28), walbro 255 pump, FMU, Boost controller, large front mount, all my gauges and so on. I my car pulls hard and im only running 5 psi right now and running low 15's high 14's. Turbo kicks in at 2800 and takes off. You loose it at the end of 2nd gear but 3rd, 4th and 5th it just keeps pulling and doesnt fall off. Remeber this car only redlines at 6500. Its not like a honda or nissan at 7800 or so. My opinion is that a T4 is going to cost you more in the long because that is alot of air for this motor. The RRM kit is nice and steap in price but for begans it s the way to go.

Have fun looking and do your homework!!!!

very, very sorry to take this but I just have to say, of all the turbo kits that have blown up so far that we know of from on the forums, probably half have been completely unrelated to boost levels, rather oil loss, incorrect spark plugs, bad fuel managementm etc., and where from people who weren't running anymore than 7 psi, and the other half was becuase the person overboosted becuase they weren't paying attention or set an MBC too high or something OR they tried to push too much boost without the correct supporting mods.
