To turbocharged a N/A car, the first thing to worry about is the exhaust manifold, not the turbo. You will have to either custom made it or get a part from an existing turbo kit.

In addition, you will have the piping, upgrade fuel supply, brake (you will need that for the added power), upgrade engine management system....the list go on and on...

We have couple other members had their Lance T/C and you might get some quality info by searching thru this forum...

I know turbos go in the engine, but we have a whole forum specifically for forced induction. Please post turbo questions in there. Moving.

EDIT: Here. Get your learn on.

The auction says it'd just for an unpolished housing..not even the whole turbo....don't fall for ebay tricks....

Considering it seems like you know next to nothing about turbo systems and probably should not build it yourself, you'd probably be spending the same, if not more donig a custom install.

EDIT: And of course I don't mean that in a slanderous way at all.

ok and your answer is.......drumroll......BUY A KIT...ta daaa. no matter what deals you think you can find, to get everything to work perfectly will cost $3,000-$4,000 depending on what you can do yourself. i made my own kit that was based on a kit for a mirage by RPW. i would not like to have done what for example motojoeusa did because it probably would have costed me more money and i didn't fee like trying that hard to get a turbo in my car. my total cost for all my turbo stuff was over $4,000 FYI

Just to let you know, again, if you bid on that turbo, you're only getting half of the turbo, the compressor side with a Turbonetics turbine and I don't have much good to say about Turbonetics.

seriously man...just keep saving money and do things the right way. you got a pretty much brand new car and you don't wanna mess it up by doing something wrong in a custom setup. someone with an extensive background in auto mechanics and custom work can do it right. from what it sounds like you don't have these abilities at the present time so i would suggest to save and but a full kit. then it will look perfect, work perfect, and won't have to worry about it.

My custom kit i always worry about. i just don't trust it but what can i do? i love working on my car and if something goes wrong i know how to fix it and whatnot.

With 2 grand, you're stick stockpiling parts for TC.

I concur with zlancer, just save more money up for the time being and then get the complete kit.

Yeah, you might be able to get someone giving you freebies here or there, but are you sure they will work just fine?

If you have a setup that's going to damage your engine, the cost for the long run will be much higher than the money you saved by going for the cheaper setup.

Again, we're here just to help out. It's your money and your decision
