04 turbo fmu ?

Ok here's my delimma. I will prolly be the 2nd 04 with a turbo. Congrats megadeth for being the first. Any who. I'm a littlr lost on what to do for a fmu. Found out I can't use a vortech and need to go with a digital fmu. Aeromotive makes one that's like 400 bucks. But would I be able to use a apexi afc 2 since it increases the fuel pressure under boost. Or would the returnless fuel system cause a problem. Also did a search and didn't find to much so made the post. Thanks for your help

Here is the vortech installation manual for a 93 to 96 Grand Cherokee. Those years did not have a return fuel line like the 04's. You will just use a inline pump instead of a intank. Its straight forward and should work. Check it out!!! Its page 16 and 18.

BTW, AFCs wont increase your base fuel pressure.

Just run a custom return line, it's not "that" hard to do.

That's what I was thinking but don't want to blow up my car lol. Intercooler and pipes came today look great on the car nice fitment.
Anywho. What about a greddy emanage. If I get the extra harnesses won't that be abke to increase fuel pressure underboost?
I will prolly start a thread with updates but there's been so many latly haha.
Please help I want to get this done asap but don't know what else to use other than digital fmu. Any advice turbo gurus.

You could always just avoid using an FMU and put in larger injectors with an accompanying fuel controller. I don't see the fascination with FMU's.

What size injectors would you reccomend. And uh excuse the dumbness but what kind of fuel controller. That's what I thought the fmu was for

370cc is what RRM uses in their Stage 2 setup. Fuel controller would be either an SAFC or Greddy eManage. The eManage Ultimate just came out, and sounds like a great package for the money.

Injector size depends upon fuel consumption, fuel controller depends upon injector size. For minor increases a simple E-manage or SAF-C type controller should be fine, but I don't know how large you can safely go with them. And of course you'd have to upgrade your fuel pump as a basic necessity for increased turbo fuel consumption.

Ok. That is prolly the route ill go injectors and a emanage. Am I going to need a seperate harness? Do you think ill need to go as big as a 255 fuel pump?
Basically I'm going to be on stock internals and don't want to push more than 6 psi right now. Ill be running a intercooled t25. Basically this fuel thing is the biggest PITA. Thanks again guys.

So injectors emanage and a bigger fuel pump and I should be good.

Considering the cost difference between any other fuel pump and a 255 I'd just get the 255. You can get them for around $100 shipped, sometimes less. Separate harness? Not likely. I wish I had more specifics for you, but I don't know a lot about piggybacks with larger injectors. I do know that I don't like the idea of basing my fuel system on raise fuel pressure and the same tiny injectors. Sure, it's simple, but it isn't precise and one small failure can lead to much bigger problems. Anyway...gotta leave my room and wait for the electrician downstairs.

Check the emanage boards, talk to engineerboy about where to get all the information.

Unfortunately, we are both few and far between. I understand that and have been trying to convey that to Miragers and Lancers alike. Unfortunately, too many people are predicated in doing it as fast and as cheaply as possible, instead of doing it right.

I too would always recommend a nice FPR and some bigger injectors to aid with fuel flow. some lancer guys have complained about the SAFC units, but to be honest, I have 460cc injectors, an Aeromotive FPR, Wally 255 and my SAFC was working just fine. Granted I was at -38 or so at 1000 RPMs but it worked just fine.
