Piggy Back Help

Hey everyone, im a noob so take it easy, no words that are too big or anything. Just got a 2003 Lancer OZ and i need some help with picking a chip (i cant find stuff in a search) Ok, does a piggy back completly replace the stock ECU or can it be turned on and off as needed? Which is better the RRM chip or Venom 400 (if it even fits this car) Anyone have pros/cons about these chips? Would parts from higher model cars like the Ralliart and Evo work on an OZ? thanks for anything you know

Before people jump on the "omg search harder plz" bandwagon (which, by the way, often yields the best answers but can be time consuming), here's the 411:

A "piggyback" is just that - it uses the stock sensor inputs and "fools" the ECU into thinking it has a different AFR. This would be different from a "standalone" unit like AEM makes that completely replaces the stock ECU. Because it uses the ECU, and our ECU can "learn" to a certain extent, you can disconnect the piggyback and allow the ECU to reset itself. But this takes, what.. ten to fifteen minutes? Maybe more? In short, you can't just turn it on or off.

As for the Venom 400, I've never heard of it, nor has it ever been discussed here that I know of, so the answer is probably no, it doesn't work on our cars.

Pros and Cons of the RRM Piggyback I -know- you can search for.

Finally, no, we can't any other Mitsu ECU other than the one for the 4G94. I don't think any ECUs are swappable, that.. just wouldn't make sense in my head.

u could go custom too, u can get a new product by greddy, the emanage ultimate. it has 2 maps, so u can have one stock(off position), and the second map u can have your upgraded fuel maps on.

(btw: that wasnt psycho that posted that)

only problem with the greddy emanage is: u have to either tune it yourself or get it tuned, however u probably will get more power out of it.
