Hey all, I drive a 2002 Lancer OZ. It is slow of course and I have been searching for ways to make it faster since i bought it. My buddy has a 91 Talon TSI that he just bought a turbo upgrade kit. It basically replaces everything but the piping that he will have to get sustom made to fit the new, huge, intercooler. Now he and I have been brainstorming and we want to clean the old turbo pieces up and place them on my car. There is a lot of room under the hood and we are pretty sure we could run all the lines and piping with some small modifications. My biggest problem is getting the turbo to bolt to the header beacause it is just a crappy little 1g. RRM says it wont work with their header. Is there anyway to make this system work in my car or am I doomed to spend 3k on a turbo kit after I win the lottery? I just want my lancer to keep up with all the other imports like hondas ect. and of course have that sweet BOV sound. MAXIMUM HP is not a priority just a significant increase. Anyone got an ideas please let me know, or perhaps some links to shops that sell 1g bolt up headers, ive scoured around but any kind of lancer search usually leads me to EVO performance parts. There has to be light at the end of the tunnel!

Only way is for you is to go custom up/down pipe like RRM or get a turbo manifold custom fitted to your car! your choice
And yes it doesn't fit directly(bolt on) you are gonna have to cut/reweld if you want to use stock header and up/down pipe......and don't take everything RRM tells you to heart. Yes they are a good company but would rather you buy their kit than tell you how to make your own, they are a business and they are in it for the money as well.

Man a lot of threads posting that RRM will not help you go custom... that's false.
They've guided a lot of people into their custom setups. They've even sold them parts for their setups. While they won't tell you how to copy their setup or give you any of their hard earned info in regards to their kits they will help.
If they say it won't work then it won't... period. I suggest just getting a custom header to bolt the turbo to. Then a custom O2 and downpipe. You'll need to extend the O2 sensor to reach since the new O2 will be far left of the original location. From there it's all intercooler and piping... then the biggy... tuning. There's ton's of info on the boards in regards to RRM's kit, TSI's kit, and many customs. Search a little and you'll find the way. Then its all about your wallet and your knowledge. The less knowledge you have the more money you'll need to pay someone to do things and vice/versa.
Patients is the biggest things you'll need.

Ive also heard that the 99 Galant that comes with the same engine as the lancer has factory headers that are bigger since the car is a tank, would it be more probable to take on of those and customize it to fit a turbo or have any of you ever heard that. The guy ayt the Mitsu dealership says it will bolt up but the exaust pipe may need to be moved up to make it fit perfect, any thoughts?

The '99 galant does not have the same motor as the Lancer. There is a log style manifold out there and it's sitting in my garage. It's got a couple holes in the weld seams along the head side flange that are slightly bigger than pin holes. It's flanged for a T3, and it will either see service on my car if the pretzel cracks again, or I'll fix it up and resell it.

RRM Just told me to buy a 2nd gen Turbo from a eclipse and their header will fit with that, sounds like thats my easiest way of doing things. Also I have some buddys going to U-wrench it today for a Galant header, if its cheap ill get that and try and get my cousin to weld the turbo fittings on to it because if he ****s it up I only be out like 30 dollars. We'll see what happens.

What they told you was you could use a T25 on their up pipe. ...Ok.
I think you're wasting your time though. I'm 99% certain the 4g94 in the Lancer was the first time this motor hit US shores. If you wanted a manifold from another engine that fits then the Mirage would be your best bet.

Nah my friends girlfriend has a 99 galant with the same 4g94 16 valve 2.0 its rare i believe cause they have 2.4 versions and 6 cylinder versions but its the same engine. Maybe im just retarded but it looks exactly the same. I'll investigate further now that you all mention it but im pretty positive.

No 2l option:
http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/Sp...IP&tab=2&sub=0
The 4cyl they use is the 4g64, not the 4g94. 2.4l 16v, not 2.0l 16v.
