New Fuel Pump for new Boost?

If I place a t25 turbo on my 02 Lancer OZ and make it push the biggest amount of boost on stock internals(I think its 7 PSI) will I need to purchase a new fuel pump or is that for more extreme turbos and boost amounts before i have to do this?

You will always need a better fuel pump (255) if you F/I. You will be getting air faster, so you will need delive tor fuel faster too, also you will need fmu.

I asked a similar question not too long ago.
How much can it handle
All of the above. I'm sure you could do a few PSI for a little on larger injectors without replacing the pump, but it would fail sooner or later (probably sooner). Assuming you go the raised fuel pressure route, since that's the "easiest" way to do it and easily the most popular, it shouldn't cost more than a few hundred for a pump you probably won't need to replace (Walbro 255lph) and an FMU or rising rate FPR.

Oh, and I wouldn't add an FMU on the stock pump. That's just asking for critical fuel shortages and tragic engine failure.

you just need a pump, not injectors

I say go with a walbro 255 and some larger injectors, I am currently running on stock injectors for the time being but will eventually upgrade when I get to a higher boost level. I am only running 5psi right now.

ON my tight budget I am just gonna go with a new fuel pump for now. You say u run with 5 PSI, does it do ok or does it sputter or anyhting significant, i think 5 PSI would be a nice amount of boost to pull on stock internals. Maybe I am paranoid but if my car blows I will be F-ed in the A cause it is my only source of transportation everywhere lol. I hear everywhere that walbro is the way to go but what about a fuel pump from a eclipse/talon turbo, is that probable? I read somewhere that an eclipse one will fit, i believe it was in these forums. Even so it is just a crappy little t25 turbo one of the lamest in existence, so its not like im pushing hard *** boost or anything it will need spool up time and everything else I am sure. Ur thoughts?

I believe that an eclipse gsx fuel pump will fit into our lancers, im not sure exactly what size it is though. Even with only running that little of boost the stock pump probably will not be able to keep up. We havent had any problems with sputtering or anything of that nature.

U saying the stock lancer fuel pump or the stock GSX fuel pump? And u say stock injectors are fine for 5 PSI? What is max PSI for stock engine internals anyway, 7? Sorry I am so inquisitive but you guys really help me and my friend a lot since this is our first forced induction install.

Also it has been brought to my attention that with forced induction there will be too much air flowing in with not enough fuel. I thought the pump takes care of that, is there some kind of computer mod I will need to pay for or I have also heard of a piggy back upgrade? I thought with a crappy little turbo I wouldnt have to worry about this but a guy I know who works for Saturn(yeah i know, GAY) says The fuel to air ratio will be off and screw everything up. Is this true with a t25 turbo running like 6PSI with a Walbro 255 Pump?

your not going to be hitting 7psi.. Im stage 1 intercooled w/ a t28 and the max boost I hit is around 6-6.2

Not trying to pick but maybe you can explain a little more on how he cannot hit 7psi. I am currently running a t-25 with a fpr, and fuel pump and an apexi safc2 and was able to run 7psi with no problem.

I believe that the stockl gsx pump is larger then our stock pump due to the fact they are turbo. Not to sure what ya can safelly run on stock internals, I think it all depends on how good of a tune you have. As well I am running stock injectors on 5psi right now and they are working just fine.
