Almost finished with turbo'ing a Lancer 4G94

Hey guys, just wanted to share some teaser pics.

We're finishing installing a turbo kit on a Lancer here at the shop and just wanted to share some pics.

More later... enjoy!

Nice manifold. Why are the in/outlets of the fmic pointed downwards?

I assume by the loose zip ties it's just a mock up, but shouldn't they be the other way around?

Yep, the zip ties are just to mock up where the intercooler is going to go. But from initial mockup, it looks to be correct with the intercooler inlet/outlet pointing down.

We're done on the car for the day, but when we start back on it tomorrow, we'll see if it has to be flipped. I doubt it tho... looks like it sits like the stock EVO one... with the in/out facing down.

Keep the inlets on the bottom. It'll hide the plumbing behind the bumper. Looks good though. Hope everything goes well. Nobody ever asks and it's all I'm really interested in...what are you doing for fuel management?

Yeah, it has to face downward.

There are going to be two extra injectors in the plumbing right next to the throttle body for extra fuel (RX7 style) that spray proportional to boost. There is a fuel pressure riser, and an APEXi Super AFC.

That is how it's going to be for now. We'll see what the customer wants us to do for him once the car is complete.

I know the whole project is still under construction and all; but for the 3k kit, will it be pretty much bolt-n-go? Or will there be some necessary custom work done on it? Thanks, adn good luck.

So far the wastegate actuator is hitting the water pipe. No amount of bashing it in made it fit, so we had to cut the water pipe. We're going to replace the section we cut with a rubber radiator hose.

Besides that, so far it's a complete bolt on. We'll keep you guys updated with pics.

That looks just like a TSI with a evo intercooler! Those two kits are the same ones TSI makes. Same manifold and turbo. I have the cheaper kit and the turbo fit fine and wastegate didnt hit the water pipe.

This guy in the yellow car has the kit and so do i. mine is the 2 page the black car.
