Best Way To Start?

For all you guys who have a custom turbo, what is the best way to start? For example: what part/s should you buy first, and what order should you put it on? maybe someone can do a step by step. Thanks

First you may wanna do a search before some guys come along and flame you. As for step by step, everyone started it differently but for more useful info check out the stickys ( they helped me alot when i started to piece my kit together. good luck

buy a turbo, manifold, or front mount intercooler. the most motivating parts.. from there its all smooth as butter

I couldnt have said it better myself!!!!!!

If you dont know alot about cars and turbos, a custom kit doesnt look good!!

Im telling you right now, turboing one of these cars isnt cake. You need to do lots of research and know what HP ur after, how much psi you want, and how much money you wanna spend!!

My advice, and the route i went without spending a ton of money in the process is to go with a TSI turbo kit, mod the kit some, buy an intercooler, walbro 255 fuel pump, recir BOV, boost control and run 7psi.

Those guys are right. I spent about 2 months of researching before I started my own project and I'm still learning about it.

If you have to ask yourself that, definitely DON'T go with a custom kit. You seem to have your heart set towards it. I just recently purchased the TSI kit, and its affordable, reliable, and had everything I need (well..almost). It's better to have everything all at once, then to piece it together. My .02.
