long distance turboing

with a non-intercooled turbo setup, should turn my turbo way down to like 2psi or off completely when driving long distances on the freeway?

I'd think at that low a boost, you wouldn't have to worry. But then again, I'm not sure of the long distance effect on the turbo and the heat it creates.

you'll be fine all day long as long as you don't exceed 7lbs non intercooled. Turbo actually runs very cool even during long runs... now if your boosting ie: smashing the throttle all the way, you may have some concerns with heat but don't think you'll hurt the turbo unless you see engine oil temps rising high then cool down by running under 3.4-4k rpms(turbo won't be boosting then). Hope this eases your mind and answers your ??

Really feel it pulling around 4k. But you can also see with a boost gauge that around 3400k you are starting to boost so there is more power from there on. Just feel the pull hard at 4+ since it is at max around then!

It's gonna depend upon turbo size too, but I don't see why you'd run hot at such low boost. There's hardly any compression and therefore hardly any heat generated.

Install simple though if you have an RRM header you will have to do some fitment to keep it on. Otherwise the stock header is no prob and install all together should only take about 4-6hours depending on how picky you are. I like things to look clean and stock. Some just slap things together and call it done. Up to you

EDIT: As for the rods i don't plan on doing them for awhile. I'm trying to get the price down a bit. $720 is just to much. Also i plan to stay low on boost. Maybe a sponsor will get me some and then the intercooler + ARP bolts so we can really push the motor but for me i'm taking a break for a bit.
