Its the same exact turbo that comes on a stock eclipse turbo. It heats up soo fast after hitting full boost and spools so little air that we (dsm community) call it a hair dryer. It is by far the worst turbo to buy. If anything, upgrade to a Big T-28

If you are not gonna run an intercooler then forget about anything bigger than a T-25. T-25s are great for local driving around town and pulling hard but after a while and full boost, it starts to blow hot air and causes detonation. Its not that great.

Do you have both the oil and water lines hooked up to the turbo? That will help keep it a little cooler - I've been debating adding the coolant lines to my T28....

You have to also take into account the difference between DSMs and Lancers. You are boosting close to double the psi on a DSM than you are on a lancer so of course the heatexchange is going to be a lot higher. That high of numbers you are surely running into the limits of the turbo on a dsm, but on a lancer like it has been said, the T25 does not come close to it's limits on a non IC, let alone a mild IC kit. It is best suited for moderate power for everyday driving. If ya want big power go for the full 16g setup

The starter of this thread bought the kit on ebay. I bought the turbo and manifold off him. The rest of the stuff for my kit has already been fabricated and or installed
