Lightbulb Intercooled or non-intercooled?

Is paying $1,000 more for an intercooled turbo really worth that extra money, or do you think I can do good with a non-intercooled turbo. Because, I don't quite have all the money, and I can get my non-intercooled turbo several months before if I waited for the intercooled one, so what's your guy's opinions? I think it like a 25hp difference...

You might want to consider Intercooling it. Better benefits.
On a side note, take a look at this site. It might help you make your decision: http://www.superchargersonline.com/content.asp?id=16

What about buying an intercooler later on when I get the money for it, would be hard to add it to it?

If you do decide to put a intercooler on in the future, it's really not that hard. Piping and a few extra parts would have to be done to attach it.

Yeah you can just get something like a greddy, for the 2g's they will run ya like 800 I believe. I myself would go with an intercooled setup....If ya dont have the cash to front on a FMIC you may aslo want to look into a less expensive side mount...you can pick up a supra one....many DSMers go this route because the stock one gets too heatsoaked.

Depending upon the turbo, if you're not running the car in extreme heat or at high psi, it's not really going to change much. The idea of an IC adding HP isn't really correct either (though it's not really wrong either). It's more like it reduces the parasitic effects of heat soak from a high RPM, exhaust driven system and keeps the intake charge cool. Depending upon the setup there may be "gains" but really you're just losing less, more than gaining. The IC may allow you to run higher boost levels without predetonation however.

EDIT: Oh yeah, moving to Forced Induction tech since people will probably ask in the future.

And Yeah, if you're strapped for cash you may as well go non-IC and add the IC later. It's just brackets and piping that'll need to be added. Sound advice. Just don't run above (say 7 psi), especially without an EGT and knock sensor.

pdog,
If I were you Iwould wait till I could get the intercooler. Not that you would need it for a low boost application, but because if you plan on adding it later it's just more labor that you don't need to do. Adding the extra piping, getting it fabricated and the install itself. Just double duty if you ask me.
