Oil Feed line Fittings
Ok so no matter how much i've searched i keep getting conflicting sizes.
What is the sizes of the following. I know you custom turbo guys and probably a lot of you with the RRM kits will know.
1) What size adapter do i need to fit the 8mm hex plug above the oil filter. I have a 1/8" NPT feed oil line, but i dont know what adapter size i need for that plug.
2) what size does RRM or any of you with custom kits use for the oil drain. I have some 3/8" braided fuel line left over as well as a 3/8" NPT to 3/8" hose barb fitting laying around but it looks like the fitting on the turbo outlet is at least 3/4". Should i just change the drain fitting on the turbo to 3/8 and go with the braided fuel line?
Answers asap would be ideal since the car goes in the garage for the turbo install starting thursday. Already got the intercooler mounted up (half of the bumper is covering it but its the only way i could get it to match the evo piping and i'm swapping to the evo front bumper in about a month anyway). Fuel Pump is installed, FMU installed, All gauges installed except for the EGT (obviously). Lets hope i dont destroy my car

I researched and got *some* answers on my own. The plug is 3/8" NPT so you either need a 3/8"NPT to 1/8"NPT reducer or just get a 3/8" to 1/4" and then 1/4" to 1/8" like i did (thats all i could find at my local stores)
As for the drain. I'm using a 5/8"NPT to 5/8 hose barb and bolting the fitting in and then JB welding the Sh*t out of it. I could not find for the life of me a 3/8"NPT to 5/8 hose barb anywhere. I have one last place to try today after work but i've tried home depot, lowes, marine shop, pep boys, and nobody has it. Keeping my fingers crossed for tonight cuz i already have the 3/8" NPT tap bit.

thanks big time man!!.. i need this bad.. because i installed my turbo.. but i modified my feed line with some vaccum hose on the end and clamped it down.. turn out that coulda been the BIGGEST mistake i've ever done with this car.. because that turbo sucks up sooooooo much air pressure that it can make a vaccum hose burst WIIIDE open.. my oil was all over the street.. luckily i was 2 blocks away from my house.. just doing in-town driving tests... and for the return hose i did the same exact thing that you did.. jb weld the crap out of it lol jb weld is ths sh*!T!
oh yeah my new feed line arrives today. thass why i needed this so i can get running @ 110% THIS weekend... i'll keep you posted.. u should do the same... AIM me sometime s/n : doncorleyone

- UPDATE -
Anyone know the approx length of oil feed line both or either TSI and RRM uses? I have a possible hole in my oil line and i want to order a replacement anyway so i need to know length. Its -4an too right? I have 3/8"NPT to 1/8" npt on the feed side and i think that matches up to -4an. A quick response would be helpful as i'd like to purchase it today. I've seen a ton of 36" lines but i have a feeling thats too short. The way i have it set up now is from the 3/8"NPT plug on the oil filter housing, then i have it run over the bottom of the oil pan, then up the front left side of the engine tucked away from any moving belts or pulleys.

I know the return line is 10 inches. As for the supply line, i know it's longer. so i'd say about 4 to 5 ft. in length. Could be more.
Yo sick, send me a PM and give me what exact fittings i need to install this turbo... I have mad hardware stores around me. RMM is charging me mad money for these parts. I made a link as well asking and Z lancer Man got back to me, but he just says where to get them.

if you are going off of the 8mm Hex plug at the oil filter housing for a feed location you will need to reduce 3/8NPT to 1/8NPT or -4AN (if they are both indeed the same, if not then its -3AN, i know 1/8NPT fits one of the two). Then just basically run the line to the turbo and screw it onto the turbo. I know the turbo fitting itself is 7/16 -24 thread inverted flare to whatever size line you have.
The oil return i just used a 3/8"NPT to 5/8" hose barb fitting. I got it from the local US1 auto store in one of those HELP! sections that carry all sorts of random parts like door knobs and stuff. Then bought some 5/8 Heater hose and hooked it right up.
SOMEONE PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF ITS 4AN or 3AN that fits up to 1/8npt. OR EVEN BETTER, WHATS THE SIZE OF THE LINE THAT COMES WITH THE TSI KIT, 4AN or 3AN because thats the oil line i currently have
