turbo smoking

ok well my turbo is smoking. its not actually from the turbo, its directly under the oil feedline. on the bottom side of the copper colored turbo looking thing. overall if you look at the turbo by its self, then look at the bottom, then move over to the left about 3 inches thats where there is alot fo oil or some type of black stuff building up, and its smoking bad. it seems like right around a screw there that the substance is leaking out.

Sounds like an oil leak. What does the smoke smell like?

I am no rocket scientist but you may need to tighten that screw.

just little stuff, its really fast, alot ... i mean alot faster than you think.

it rained today and the streets were wet. i was on about a 15 mph roll and i just pushed the throttle to get past somebody , the rpms went to about 3.5k, and i started spinning the tires.

damn, that kit has given you quite a bit of trouble. i can't derive anything from that explanation, like lancerman360 said, you may need to tighten the turbo down. the only thing that i know of that would be copper in the kit is the gasket. good luck.

I think hes referring to the wastegate actuator as the copper thing. it looks like a circular thing with a metal rod sticking out right? as for the smoke. mine does the same thing. Tighten up all the fittings and if it still does it take the fittings off, degrease the entire outside of the turbo, and then put them back on with gasket sealer stuff. Should stop the leaks. I'm going to be doing that next weekend when i'm not lazy

Re-tighten everything; if that doesn't do it, maybe your seals went out.

yeah its the screw right next to the stock exhaust manifold. nearest to he oil dip stick.

if you look straight down at the engine its the part to the right of the heat wrapped pipe. on the under side closes to the exhaust manifold.

There is a copper seal on the Turbo return oil line. The screws are 10 milimiters. Mostlikely the screws are loose or the seal is faulty.

By the way, the T-25 is my prefer choice of turbo for small non turbo car projects. I would always recommend this turbo, it is cheap and it mounted in many other cars.

ok i didnt get to take it in today, and it has gotten alot worse. i looked at it and it had oil leaking all around the uppipe area. there is a thin copper/gold colored thing where its leaking oil all around. when this oils gets heated it smokes really bad. i think its a blown gasket, i really need somebody's advice on which gasket would be best to replace this rrm gasket. also this problem is starting to make my exhaust smoke very white and easily seen in 90 degree weather. i hope its a blown gasket. could it be anything else?

if its the seals how much would that cost to repair?
