Okay after searching for a bit and reading thread after thread that directed me to other threads that just end in questions...

Let me just ask this. What would or were to happen if I install my RRM kit stg 1 and leave my PB intalled w/ the 91 octane fuel map? Keep in mind, I do have the software and other maps to my disposal ( stage 2 map as well ). But, that's a different story.

I wanna run 5 to 7 psi safely on my stage 1. But, what effect would the piggy have on the turbo itself if left in it's current position? would it not work efficiently? Would it cause it to run lean, rich? Blow up? These are the answers I cannot find.

I would think with the stage 1 coupled with the n/a map you might run a little on the lean side. I know with my 12:1 FMU, 255 walbro, and my turbo setup at 5.5 psi i'm topping out at around 12-12.5 afr at full boost. Only one way to find out though. Get a wideband, install the turbo, and take a drive, if you see the Afr's going any higher than 13 at full boost over 3k rpms back off the throttle and edit the map a little. You want to shoot for between 11 and 12.5 afrs to get the balance between safety and power. Watch your egts, watch your afr, and as long as everything looks good across the power band then it should be good. If not, like you said, you have the software, you can always tweak the powerband.

Ps, i see you live in queens. Know of any good shops around there with decently priced dyno tuning sessions? I'm going either emanage or safc and installing 440cc wrx injectors soon so i'm gonna need a tune before i bump my boost up to 8psi and i'd rather a shop do it and get some numbers while i'm at it. I have a civic turbo friend too who would want to jump in on the dyno time.

I would have to find out for you. I heard of a spot up in Flushing, Queens. They're gonna re-route my piping on the turbo since it's made for M/T and I"m AUto. So, I'll find through them.

oh, thanks for the info, I'll keep that in mind when I finalize my install.

Best thing to invest in when you turbo is a wideband, boost gauge and EGT gauge. This will let you know if the engine is safe or not. If you take a look at that 91 Octane map, you'll see that it pulls fuel right around 0 PSI. After that, when you are boosting, it doesn't touch the stock ECU, so you'd be fine. But the best bet is to get a wideband to know for sure.

Exactly what the others said... Stick with the current map, but get a WB to find the A/F ratios when in/out of boost. You'll be set since you have the software anyways!
