So I was gonna seel the car but i have decided to put about a grand into it and make it run a little smoother. So far this week I have gotten new pads and rotrs and the wastaget recirculated. Today I had the stock suspension put back in, but i still have a nastyu squeak coming from the rear, maybe its from the sway bar? But my new biggest concern is the fact that it sounds liek I have a nasty exhaust leak. The car is way loud in the engine bay but i cnat exactly pinpoint the location. Some times it sounds like the puttering is coming from down by the flex pipe and sometimes it sounds liek its coming from the header, I just cna't quite tell. Any suggestions, and how much cost and labor do you think ti would run to replace all the gaskets on the connections before the cat all the way up to the header...Thanks

 

the squeak is probably your bushings on your sway bar, get under there and grease them up good and it should stop.

as for the exhaust leak, usually they are noticable... but if they are in a weird spot (like you described) they can be a real biatch to pinpoint.

 

def double up on the gasket between the downpipe and second cat. i had a fluttery exhaust leak and that fixed it.

 

Gaskets are $12 at dealership
Buy replacement bolts, washers, and nuts if yours are rusted. This just makes it easier to put back together and take them off down the road if necessary.
For what you would pay someone to do them for you, you are better off buying a floor jack and a couple of jack-stands and do it yourself. It's not hard at all
