We instead setup on our turbo cars a surge tank system with a larger pump to avoid problems with the fuel pump and returnless system on the lancers - this way we used the stock pump to fill up the surge tank, setup a return line system and then fed it back to the petrol tank. Worked a treat.
Im also trying to figure out what to do, so far we have decided to go ahead and convert the fuel to a return system ( tap fuel rail to run a return line, install a fpr and run power straight to the fuel pump ), if that doesnt work we will be giving the surge tank idea a shot.

And if neither works i guess well try this Aeromotive Digital FMU suposedly for returnless systems.

02-03 fuel rail wont fit 04s, the injectors are spaced differently, if you wanted to go with an 03 fuel rail im pretty sure you would have to get their intake manifold too.

As for the conversion i cant give you any more info because i havent done it yet, and if somebody has done it , they havent posted on the forums , i will be doing it within this next week, i will try to take some pictures and all that.

well we were looking at the fuel rail last night, and it is way too thin at the end to tap for a fitting, which means a new fuel rail needs to be made, or find one that fits it

If you only plan on runing 7psi you could talk to RRM about getting the fuel setup they use for their 04 turbo kit, but it wont be cheap, they use a 5th injector in the intake pipe with their piggy back

Here, go to this website below, its vortechs. I worked on a bunch of dodge trucks and jeeps and the earlier models had a non return fuel system similiar to the 04+ lancer. You can do the same thing to the lancer as we did to trucks when boosting. This is the manual of the full install of the kit on a jeep but only pay attention to page 16 and 18. There are diagrams there that show you two ways you can hook up an FMU to an non return fuel system. You just have to get a aux pump to make it work.
