Smile Looking to turbo!!!! possibly custom??

I am wondering what manufacture makes a stock turbo that best suits my 02 lancer? I currently have kami header and downpipe and aem CAI but other than that nothing. I am looking to turbo as price conscientious as possible w/o risking damage to the car. Suggestions??? or should i just wait and buy a kit????

Joel

You should check out RRM. Call them up and ask about their turbo set-ups. They are reliable and they have a lot of rep on EVOm.

RRM, RPW those are the big names and RRM is the more widely known and proven. But turbos are not cheap and a kit is the safest, especially one with an ecu tuned for the kit. I'd say RRM is the best way to go. Also, you joined 4 years ago. How could you not know he answer to this question by now?

RRM definitely has the best turbo kits for your lancer, but if your strapped for cash check out the TSI kits

I've also seen RRM turbo kits used on here for 25% the cost of a new one.

I actually have been looking into turboing for a longtime but want alittle more than just a t28, now that I got my tax return i have the cash to do it. I am looking at a gt28r, but I dont really know the difference between that and the rrm t28. I figured its the in and outlet sizes but that is just a guess. I was really looking for more info inregards to stock turbo for other cars that could be adapted to the lancer. I know that the kits are the way to go.

The easiest turbo to adapt to the Lancer is the 16g. That's the stock turbo on the Evo 8 while the Evo 9 uses the 20g. RRM's new turbo kit sells the EVO III 16g as well. All are good turbo and Mitsubishi made. You run into problems when you try and find a turbo manifold. Currently RRM is the only one who sells a 16g manifold. There is IPP, which sells a log-style manifold for the T25,T28 series

The manifold from Turbo Specialties fits the gt28rs, so it should also fit the gt28r assuming they're not already the same turbo.
