Compression Test?
all of the compressions should be somewhere within 20-30 of eachother? (just a guess) closer the better
I believe that is what you wanna do if i understand you correctly. any objections please post.

i'm still a newbie when it comes to engine...is there a possible way i can take it to a mechanic shop and do the testing there? cause i might screw my engine up if i do it by myself.

if there is bad compression something is wrong with your cylinder. exp. bad rings, head gasket, or something having to do with the valves
Good compression lets you know your cylinder is functioning ok

Just did a comp test yesterday all were 190-195psi across the board. I know someone already explained it but warm your car up to operating temp, remove plugs, disconnect fuel pump fuse(under the hood fuse box)it will tell you which fuse it is in your owners manual i forgot.screw in you comp tester gauge, like the guy said before crank your engine over 4-5 times with the throttle plate open(hold the gas pedal down) and check compression and the move to the next one. Very easy and i would rather pay the 40 bucks and have the tester the rest of my life then pay a mechanic 50 every time. Hope this helps.
If your taking it to a dealer and it fails.....tell them to fix it. haha, if you dont really feel safe doing the compression test yourself, you prolly wont feel safe replacing a head gasket, rings, or even doing valve work. good luck with it all. let us know wut it reads
