New TSI kit for O.Z. Is it fixed????

Has anyone purchased the TSI kit lately? I was wondering if they fixed the downpipe.

I noticed they they finally updated the site and there were some changes in the fuel options also.

Has anyone put this kit on the dyno?

i was about to get this kit but heard it was kinda problematic with istallation and other extra stuff that had to be purchased..

its around the same price of the rrm non ic kit.....compared to this, i'd rather get the non ic kit from rrm. atleast we know it works and everything fits perfect.

Yeah, but is it really worth all of the extra money for the RRM??? Personally I don't think so. The power you're going to get is about the same.

i would prolly even prefer getting the non intercooled rrm kit than the tsi kit.

i e-mailed turbo-kits.com about this and it turns out the suppier was sending them the wrong piping for the kits. they said everything is fixed now.

there are a couple of guys going around on TSI kits. They both run perfectly and have had zero problems for a few years now.

the reason most people don't purchase the kit is
a) they think RRM is the only way to go
b) they think the kit is unreliable

If you research you will find the main thing going against this kit was some custom work needed to be done. eg. downpipe, oil line and a couple of other things.
other than that, from what i found, it ran fine,. 9psi seemed to be what a couple of people where running it at, getting around 200hp i think.


I emailed TSI a while back and they said they where gonna re-work the kit. Which it appears that they have

But for all those curious about the kit. Instead of posting new threads about it, run a search in the lancer forums for "TSI turbo kit" and you will find all the info you need to make a decision

RRM = 100% sure it will fit and work
TSI = 50-50 chance it will fit and work

Until TSI steps up with a proven setup, we have to be realistic. I wouldn't buy a cheapo kit just because it was cheaper. They'd have to prove that it WORKED for once.

The best way to do it, is have a shop custom make a kit for you and install/tune it. Anytime something happens, they know exactly how to fix it.

i hope that bov is a twin piston and stays closed at idle, otherwise that car will stall out and still be moving.

Either go custom or rrm non kit if your low on cash. You can easily add and intercooller to the car and also the 16g kits people have been making from evo parts can be done on a budget also.
