Difference between Auto and manual boost controller?

I am wondering what is the difference between a manual and an auto boost controller? I am new to boosted cats so I am not sure. I own a 2003 Evo 8 and I am wondering what is a good boost controller for the car? I was looking at the Apexi ones but I am not sure. Any input on this?

Thanks guys
Chris

Depends on how much you want to spend? You can buy a MBC for under $75 that will lock your boost were you want it. I have a MBC and I like it. I did not need all the nice options the EBC provide.

I don't have a limit as far as money goes. I have been looking at the Apexi controller. I have seen many people with it. I am assuming it is an Auto boost controller which means I can change settings and what not? If I understand right the difference between the auto and manual is being able to control boost settings yourself or just having preset ones?

I was also looking at the HKS EVC (electronic valve controller) which is also a boost controller to. Anyone know anything about that?

I love how this is in the crappy Lancer section...ooooh, not crappy, just "speed impaired." I'd imagine the guys at the EVO section could help out a bunch more.
