Turbo setup is for 5-6psi when connected properly. That is all it can do till you buy a "boost controller" which is about 50 bucks. Then you can adjust the boost with it.

Boost controller is actually a regulator that bleeds pressure out of a line that goes to the wastegate. The wastegate has a set spring which controls how much boost you make. If you bleed off the pressure to this spring it then takes more pressure to open meaning more boost. Boost is determined by how much you bleed off the line. The more you bleed the more you raise boost. There are specific things that are involved in this to prevent turbo lag or late boost and boost creeping or slow rising boost. These things come with the boost controller. Hope this helps you out!

Wow Boe I have been reading all your posts and i really appreciate all the info! You should write up a "turbo: for dummies" article that goes over all the fundamental stuff. It really helps out a lot!

To add to this: Do not use a bleeder type valve as Boe has described, the bleeeding or leak he is describing may raise the boost but contributes to lag as he has pointed out. Also note that a manual boost controller does not stop boost creep. If you are experiencing boost creep the most common way to completely elimante it is to port the 02 housing.

Do you have to worry about detonation, or are you ok? the ECU flash seems like a good idea but is it nessisary?
