They definitly did an entire overhaul for the engine, so as to accept the turbo.

Well obviously you are gonna have to tune the engine, not doing so is just plain RETARDED on any car, let alone an engine with a higher compression. As for the CVT I got no idea on that, thats why I got a manual transmission.

Maybe, maybe not. It could be holding back on the PSI and a small turbo and has a killer tune(Tuning is the key in any car not just the engine specs). Maybe all they did was lower the CR slightly. But wont know for sure until someone releases the specs......

Not necessarily. HKS has bolt on turbo kits for other cars like the rsx type s that has a higher compression ratio than the lancer. I think a low boost kit with proper tunning, and the engine should be fine. Who knows about the cvt though.

Now if you are wanting huge power numbers, then you will have to start looking at forged lower cr pistons, stronger connection rods and crank. stronger head bolts and a complete upgrade of the fuel system. At that point you would have been better off going with an evo.

So you're saying that HKS told you in person that the turbo kit is fake?

Cant tell if its really turbo charged.
The booth it was in wasn't a HKS booth. From what i saw it wasn't turbo. But i didn't pop the hood and the guy acted like it was all show

I dont buy it.... you can definately see the manifold, but you can argue you cant see the turbo(big whoop alot of kits you cant see the turbo), but you can see the oil lines and what not, sure you cant see the intercooler pipes above the engine, maybe they went underneath???
Maybe as dressed up they have a base model(hence no wing or foglights)with a GTS bodykit and wheels.

Edit:didnt see those pics you posted before I posted this, that does like sick with that front mount tho

If those fake side vents were open on both sides we could see if those intercooler pipes were actually connected

I would just stick nitromethane in your gas Still has the same effect as a turbo.

Maybe the guy doesn't like his boss? Or doesn't know anything about actual modifications?

From the other pictures of the car (see the first post), it definitely looks turbocharged. And if it's daily driven, I gotta figure that those parts are the real deal, or else it wouldn't even run...

FWIW, giving the interior picture a close look, it kinda looks like that's a boost gauge on the left. Doesn't necessarily mean anything, but it does lend some credence to the boosted theory...
