new wastegate, same problems...

K just got the new 38mm wastegate, 6 psi spring, still overboosting horribly, my vacuum for the wastegate is not directly off the turbo, but the pressure pipe right off of it, which i would think would still be ok, because its the first pipe , and before the intercooler....so stuck still?

that is fine. THat is where my TT is tapped into for boost source. Again, if you are overboosting, you need a boost controller. Get a turboXS mbc and it will cure it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Turbo...2em118Q2el1247

Which wastegate are you running? Usually with external set-up, you shouldn't see boost creep.

i have 2 and half inch exhaust from header back, and just one cat thats it, its an external 38mm wastegate which should be more then enough for 6-10psi, whatever I decide to boost, and a boost controller only turns boost up, you cant go any lower than the spring setting so that wont work

Very weird, maybe the exhaust is too open but other people seem to be fine with a similar setup.

Just get the small yellow (3.6psi) spring and a bleed type mbc. This will peak and hold at 7 or w/e psi you want. There is not spiking with these types of mbc’s

problem solved

I really dont see that as being an issue.

I'm just spitting out ideas, I have no idea what the hell is going on. It sounds like the wastegate isn't responding in time which is weird. How would going to a 3.6 PSI spring help?

Having the mbc control 3.5psi is easier than 1psi if he wants 7psi as the limit.

Is this a RRM kit or something else?

If it wasn’t the first tial 38mm, its not the second. You wouldn’t happen to have a pic of the manifold and wastegate would you? If not, where is it located? You can also move the boost source to the intake manifold where its more constant and should help some. If that doesn’t work, I would go to the softer spring and a mbc.
