RPW Turbo Kits

Those turbo kits as described above are to suit the Mirage models. The main difference we would make for the Lancer 2.0 motor is to automatically upgrade all models to the GT-28 ball bearing Garret turbo.

These turbo's are one of the best turbo's to use - you can get like 1 psi boost free revving the car because the turbo's are so quick to boost up. They gt-28 would be boosting under loead at around 2000rpm and they do not blow up as some people beleive.

An update - one of our turbo kits is being fitted to a Lancer 2.0 right at this moment and everything is fitting up very nicely. As we confirmed, the exhaust manifold pattern is the same so our extractors will also bolt up.

So there you go there is a proven turbo kit available for the lancer models. The information provided is not quite right but it is a good starting point. I estimate that at 7 psi boost the 2.0 motor would be producing around 170kw at the flywheel with a tonne of torque. Our 1.8 motors produce 160kw at 7 psi boost with the GT-28 turbo.

I wasn't talking kW but horsepower at the wheels Dave, but hey the more the better. Which company is installing the Turbo AP or Vision? Is that getting an intercooler too? Also are they testing Camshafts too?

RPW Turbo Kits

The turbo kit is actually being organised via Phantom Racing the third USA distributor for RPW Service Centre. But Phantom refers customer to either APParts or Vision Imports as they are pretty flat out keeping parts organised for the other two companies.

The fuel control is via an Apexi SAFC controller but I do not know what intercooler is being used.

Boost is via an internal wastegate set to either 5 or 7 psi. To run more boost we suply a Turbosmart Pnuematic boost controller for easy tuning.

For the love of God, go to RPW's or Vision Import's page and LOOK at the contents of the kit. They tell you what's in EVERY one on BOTH sites.

Thanks for the hint, I was just curious since niether site says anything about an intercooler, except that it is needed if you go above a certain psi. So now another question, at what point would an intercooler be necessary and would it provide any improvement of the stage1 kit's preformance?

For those not inclined to use the metric system of measurement...

1 kilowatt = 1.341 horsepower.

thus, 170 kW = 228 hp
