Turbo Question......

I read somewhere that if i get a turbo, my intake and other parts would have to be removed. I was just curious about what i can get, thats out now that adds to performance that won't have to be removed later on when i get a turbo.... Performance meaning anything that helps the car not just hp... Preferably something from rmr or rmm that I can see on the webpages.....
Thanx To all that reply with helpful answers....

P.S. If you list a mod to my question can you also tell me how it would help?

Thanx again

Nile C.

Pretty much any NA mods (intake, exhaust, header) would have to go with a turbo setup. There is so much piping that needs to be fit into the engine bay that it gets very cramped very quick. A cold air intake would defnitely have to go. To big and would have to be reworked anyway to be useful with a turbo. A header would have to go because it'd get replaced with a turbo manifold, and the exhaust would be gone so the piping could be upped to 3" whereas with an NA setup, you wouldn't want to go past 2.5". Some sort of air/fuel computer that perhaps you used with a nice NA setup would be able to stay since you're more than likely going to have tweak those settings...Hmm...turbos are more complex than most people realize... There's lots more information other people can give you. That's just the tip of the iceberg.

Prep your fuel system for your future upgrade. Consider a fuel pump, regulator, and injectors to satisfy fuel consumption when you do get your turbo.

Nope, will not add any horses to your vehicle, but will surely be needed if your considering a turbo. Leave the ECU alone for now. Going for a fully programmable (MOTEC, Link, Gems, DTA, Haltech, etc.) is the optimum choice (can be expensive).
