Angry Exhaust aggravation! (Please just look)

Ok. 2 problems. I've recently turboed and everything was golden except for 1 minor hiccup which was my down pipe was touching my oil pan causing an incomplete seal with my "J" pipe and my down pipe. That is nothing major. I can tolerate that whistling noise for a while.

Problem 1.
That down pipe issue. I've taken off the heat shield from around the front of the down pipe (and spent 4 hours cutting through an aluminum nut because the threads ended up stripping because as I thought it was getting tighter it was just sitting there help back by my down pipe and that day sucked) and dented the pipe really well but I cant dent the weld of down pipe to flex pipe but now there looks like there is enough clearance to tighten up but it doesnt look like its sealing and I don't want to force it again because I don't want to spend another 4 hours under my car cutting off a nut and bolt in a tight space.

For you guys with RRM's kit how did your down pipe to "J" pipe seal? Any issues? Went on without a problem? Any tips? Clue me in please!

PROBLEM 2.
RRM header to up pipe. Before I did my install I tightened these bolts really well. One end socket the other end box wrench. Well guess what? Those mother lovers became loose on me! On one side the nut came off completely while the other side was loose and the leak was so bad that I wasn't even building any boost! Spent a day under my car again trying to retighten those 2 nuts and bolts again and I think I got some where because afterwards, no more truck motor and boost was back. Well now, I can feel a boost drop and it sounds as if the leak is coming back. I've come to the conclusion that I'm gonna have to take off the turbo completly to put the proper torque on those things (which I did do in the first place) to hopefully stop them from coming off again. My question again for you RRM guys, how did you guys prevent the manifold from coming loose?

As far as those flanges go, should I weld them? Has anyone welded them?

I am also throwing SES code P0171 (Bank 1 too lean) which I believe came in line with problem 2 which I can understand since my gases are escaping before they hit the turbo. Am I on the right direction with that?

I am getting sick of laying in the sand in the heat on my weekends off fixing exhaust problems! Problem 1 I can live with but number 2 is the big one which I need some kind of info/help with.

If you have any tips please post.

So.....What your saying is your turbo manifold keeps coming loose off the block? ...OR your downpipe is coming loose off the manifold? Well i wouldn't weld anything! If you want to weld...i would weld after the turbo mani and downpipe. You could weld your catback to your flex pipe that would help for better exhaust flow but is not needed. Second if your downpipe keeps coming loose or if its your mani from your block i wouldn't start the car until i know its tightly in or else you need a new gasket. And downpipe you should take it to a exhaust shop to have them install it for your on a lift. it shouldn't be expensive.

I think a few members have welded their up pipes due to this same issue, so you're not alone.
