+turbo planning....

I have an 05 es with the 2.0L. Manual. I'd like to add a turbo but there are a couple things..... 1)i'd like to keep it a streetable DD with around 7psi. 2)i'd like the car to last awhile still. I like to drive hard from time to time and i've owned a few cars with turbos (TSI, 944T) and i love them. To add a moderate kit, what size turbo should i use? And can i +T with moderate upgrades??

why dont you tell us what kind of power you wanna put down
and then we can tell you what turbo you need.

also PSI dont matter because you dont know what turbo you wanna get.
7 psi on a t25 is not the same as a 35r.

just stick with a 16g off an evo
you can do a kit for cheap and use and modify evo parts to work.
its decently streetable. but our ecus dont correct for boost, so it will never be perfect..

i think a big turbo is actually more streetable then the smaller turbos.. but tahts just because under normal driving conditions u can stay out of boost.. my 60trim i can drive city and highway without breaking boost at all and ill still get very good mpg.. and its not as abusive on the car being driving daily.. but when you wanna have fun. all the powers there..

7psi.. 16g should do about what you want. close to 200hp.. anything bigger then a 1g u will notice the turbo lag, but you should have a little better top end power.
a bigger t3/t4 or even a gt35r might be more streetable.. really depends on what your definition of streetable is.. alot of peoples driving styles are different.

ill be going bigger then my t3/t4 in a few months.. i like where my power is at and i dont mind lag, it suits my driving style

also, could a piggy back system correct for the ecu? or would i have to replace the whole ecu itself?

standalone ecu or even something like safc neo would help the most.. but honestly. a good tuner can correct around WOT enough to make the car almost seem stock. but all the turbo lancers i have been around, crossover and decel is always a little akward.

if you want a bigger turbo.. a garrett 60 trim t3/to4e with a .63 a/r is what i have.. and you could get the next size up with a .82 a/r hosing. i like my power band. cost is a little more then a 16g setup or even a t28 setup because of extra parts you have to buy, like an external wastegate.. but a turbo lancer isnt something u see everyday.
its not practical, but ill be switching to a custom 40r setup at the end of the summer, setup would be for show, but should be a nice highway/drag setup also.

if i was going to go JY hunting...what would be some models of mitsu and parts that i would be looking to steal? are there any direct replacements from other models? i know the 440cc subaru injectors fit up, is there anything else specifically i should try and hunt down? what about 2 or 3g eclipse parts as far as turbo setups?

^ Couldn't you just rescale your load % with EcuFlash?

BUT Senate6268 just got an Evo 8 ECU to run with his Turbo setup. Something to look out for.
