120k miles, of 100% abuse out of my driving it.. and its lasted very well..

i like my 200$ motors, and 150$ trans.. i might not run a 11second pass at lower boost levels, but when i blew up my stock motor its only down for 2 days and only costs me 200$ i dont have a 2000$ motors or trans or transfercase and whatever else thats known for going out on abused evos.

my cars paid off, and has been for 5 years now.. im sure that has alot to do with my desision to keep it, i wouldnt be able to do half the things i would want to do to an evo if i still had a big car payment.. my new DD i got yesturday, 09 chevy 2500hd crew cab.. now when i break my car at an event i have a way to get her home and a car to still drive when im working on it..
everyones financial issues are different. i make really good money, and ive had to pay for everything myself, and im still in college.. nothings really easy, but im glad i never upgraded to an evo, i wouldnt have had the money to spend on all the mods that have expanded my knownledge on cars like they have. once this truck is paid off there is no telling what my next toy or dd will be.
This is a comment from someone who has no knowledge of an evo. You say it cost a bunch to fix an evo and not alot for a lancer. Guess what? The mods to make an evo a beast cost next to nothing these days. Since the evo is built already for performance they dont break. The power you can get out of an evo is a ton before you start to break things. Beside that a well built expensive lancer is like 300 whp and will break. You can put down 500+ on an evo for a couple thousand. Also the more power you put in your lancer the worse anyway. FWD is the worst!!! you just get more wheelspin. You can never say a lancer is better for the money then an evo.Your not paying just for speed, you get awd, a wayyyyyy better body style, bad *** recaros ridiculous brembos and nice wheels. Dont forget to add all the money for a BBK set-up on your lancer. A lancer with twice as much power would still get destroyed by an evo on a track. Lancers are worthless. Why would anyone buy one with speed in mind?! You might as well buy a civic EK. Lets be realistic, there is NO WAY you can run a TT set-up on a lancer. Why do you think even bigger discplacment 4 cyl dont run a TT?? You would never be able to spool them up. It would be tons of time and money for nothing. case in point, someone please let me know what the worlds fastest most powerful lancer is??? Because i would bet that 8-% of modded evos are faster.
