Mav's 2002 Lancer ES build thread.
thinking about rotors and springs after the wheels get in.
i've been looking around here, originally i was going to go with rrm but JRR said they aren't that great for the money. any suggestions on other options?
as far as springs i am trying to get as much info as i can. how do the h&r and teins compare to the stock ride quality? recommendations fellas?
thanks.

I have progress springs on my 02-es use to be on stock shocks 100k. Ride quality was great and had to upgrade shocks to kyb and still rides great. 109k
Also it realy looks nice droped.
this is just for future reference, but should i be expecting any CELs once the turbo is all installed? i would think so, but i just want to double check. and if they are present, what would be most common reason(s)?
With. O tune it all depends on your mods. If u put 440s in with no tune it will be pig rich if it will even idle idk. if your staying with stock injectors your car will run just like before off boost. You will find out eventually
hang on.....so as far as i've been reading, part of the turbo package are the 440 injectors. if i install them i at the same time as the turbo kit, then there is a possibility of no idle/no run at all? what happens if i install the turbo kit and stick to stock injectors? too lean i'm assuming.
so what is the solution here? install turbo, keep stock injectors and get tune. then install 440s and re-tune? or am i missing something here? needless to say, I have not done enough research on FI yet, my apologies.

I spent quite awhile in my first base tune while I was collecting parts so I can't say for sure on the idling since I flashed my tune in before I started it for the first time. If you did have issues I could send you my injector settings which I know would work to start u off. If you left your stiockers in it would behave just like before until you tried to hit boost then it would go wayyy lean. Sorry for my grammer I am on my phone at work right now lol.
thanks for the tip bro, i'm not quite there yet, but i will reference this later.
also, i am thinking about buying a set of these:

they are projector type and i am wondering is anyone has them pics? and are they plug n' play or do i need some extra wiring/splicing?
thanks fellas.
p.s. anyone have foglights on their lancer?

They look identical to the headlights I have
I got them just a couple months ago so my build pics still show my old headlights. I love them mine were plug in play except I had to trim the main connectors on them they were a little too deep for my plug for some reason. Other than that I love them. Get the HID version there only another $100 and well worth it IMO.

great! that's what i wanted to hear. originally i was going to just have my headlights cleaned but i figure these will look better also with the black! and they're going to make the front end look like new....at least i'm hoping
p.s; I want to buy a stock evo 8 shift knob to replace the ugly lancer one. question is, will the evo knob fit my '02 ES, or is the thread pattern different? thanks!

not the most groundbreaking update ever, but this will be my first addition to the car lulz....heading over to RRM in a little while to pick up front strut bar. i'll post some pics later since it's technically "part of the build"

awesome! good to know.
change of plans/lesson learned: the RRM Ralli X bar will not clear the stock MAF/Intake box. i don't want to spend money on N/A stuff lol so plan was moved to lightweight crank pulley which the guys exchanged for me and i will be installing a little bit later.

if you still want the bar now just go to ebay and get an sri/cai for yur car. they are like $30 with everything. not too much money wasted i feel.
