Turbo manifold question
Turbo manifold question
finally came to the point where i wanna turbo the lancer, my friend who owns a honda >.> keeps bugging me to race him and i know damn well i wont keep up since he was able to somewhat keep up with my old subaru so its time to turbo the lancer
Does anyone know what other manifold from other cars may fit? i really dont wanna have to spend $300 on a turbo manifold for my 2.0 then have to by everything else at god knows how much.
so far i modded my cosmo racing intake from the subaru to fit, changed out the spark plugs to NGK, about to order an ebay exhaust kit
and some cheap lowering springs to bring it down alil

honestly im not sure about turbo brands, but i know i need something that can run 6 pounds of boost safely without a problem. i always done N/A performance best as i can so i dont know jack **** about turbo set ups
lol when I posted up something about racing the MOD dude gave me a warning... OK?
anyways I would stick with the 16G turbo to be honest from what I read it can hold more power than the T-25, and its universal with the evo 8. But you dont have to spend 300 on a manifold you can probably find one used on here for about 150-250 just depends on the person. I got mine from speedcorps for 300 and trust me it was worth every penny

Turbo manifolds from the 4G93 (not 4G93T GSR) will fit. That's about it. Speed Corps makes manifolds to fit a 16G. RPW and RRM have manifolds also. It'll be tough to spend less than $300 on a manifold unless you can find one used for cheap.
im sure i can pick up a used one since there seems to be alot of evos in my areas and they drive like *******s
and steven i wasnt talkin about racing but it would be nice to have the power so honda boy finally shuts up lol

your only problem is the flange that bolts up to the exhaust block of the engine, that needs to be modified because the 4G63 is a bigger engine than the 4G94 Trust me you will spend more money on customizing it yourself than just buying a used or new one, UNLESS your a skiled welder can metal fabricataor then go for it
My $.02
just a bit of advice from one new guy to another. i came into a Lancer from the Honda world. I was desperately searching for a clean Honda, but with how things are today everyone just molests them to ****. also, i really did not want to be associated with the Honda crowd, especially down here in socal.
i have learned a lot in my short time here on the forums and research continues. do not try to make this thing into a Honda. there are plenty of resources on here to help you out. like i said, i have learned a lot in my short time and it continues on. read the turbo build threads all the way through, and then once you think you understand everything, read it all over again
good luck bud.

you just have to be very careful on what kind of manifold you will buy, the difficulty depends on the year of your car and if its auto or mani, if your car is 03 or below, or auto (any year) all 4g94 t manifold will fit, but if its newer and manual you will have a headache (big time) trying to find a manifold. and all this is because of the damn slave cylinder of the tranny.
good luck with your build
good luck with your build

If I did get my car painted, it'd probably be a maaco special, lol
