RRM legal turbo

RRM legal turbo
Just thought i'd post up to let everyone know about the pending carb cert for the RRM turbo kit.
The car is currently testing and has passed all tests with flying colores. The last test is being performed today and we've been told to get ready for our carb certificates!
Thus today seems to be D-Day for RRM turbo guys... if you were thinking of purchasing a kit now is the time as the minute we get the call the $$ will go up.
All purchasers of the kit in the past are entitled to the cert... please call us so we can get your info... this is easier than tracking down thru all the records. Just thought i'd spread the word and tell all the great news.
BTW the cert is good for Both the Non-IC and IC kits.

Just out of curiousity, what exactly are they testing for and what are the tolerances (approximate)? I know there are CARB legal turbo kits out there so I'm just curious how they determine what (I guess) "significantly" increases fuel consumption and pollution as opposed to what is within a "reasonable" range.
Thanks as usual, Boe. Always appreciate a kind word.

hobie, yes that is drew's car.
and for the testing it is a state mandate that your emissions not excede the testing limits. Which in reality is they test a car from mitsu stock, baseline it (several cars are tested) and then give you a 50% variance not to excede certain numbers.
Test are going on right now, maybe today maybe monday but we will know soon.

Oh, if he's "Drew" then he's cool by me. I will not tolerate other Andrews however.
50% variance should be quite a lot to play with as long as you're not talking about a ULEV, right? What a they measuring for? Fuel consumption, CO, NOX?

well unfortunatly the 2003 lancer is a ulev so there isnt much variance.
As for measuring they are looking at (where is that damn paper).... NOx CO and all other baddies (seemed to have left the testing paper in the car).
and his name is Andrew but we call him 'drew.

Cool stuff Boe. Can't wait till you're given the final word so i can be fearless. By the way, I think you mentioned that it will pass with the RRM header installed, I forgot if this statement was true. I hope I'm remembering correctly otherwise I gotta put the stock manifold back on.
