2010 Lancer 2.0 Turbo Advice/Help
Hi Everyone
I am looking for a little advice/help for my little turbo project from people who know more than i do. (a little background: I live in South Africa and the only model we get here is the 2.0 GLS a cross between the ES and the DE. We do not get the Ralliart nor the EVO.)
If you would be so kind as to assist that would be awesome.
I would like to Turbo my lancer 2.0 Gls, now the objective / goal is to have a good daily drive that will spank a GTI (no offense to Gti drivers but dont mistake my lancer for an evo every time i stop at the robot its real obvious just look at the hood....
) or at least just keep up with one. The goal is 210/220 maybe 230 hp.
I have started to collect a couple of things, like a turbo manifold as well as a TD05 16G turbo.
The 4b11 has forged h beam rods however "normal" aluminum alloy pistons. I would like to know what would be a safe amount of boost with the flow rate of the 16G, I was thinking .45Bar (6.5psi could i go higher) Current compression ratio is 10:1
If i compare this to what i know from bike mechanics you are safe to go to about 14/14.5:1 on aluminum alloy pistons. And when at .45/.5Bar the compression ratio in the chamber would be at about 14:1 (with proper tuning running 95)
Is my logic sound?
Would you recommend a water injection kit?
with the water injection would it not be dangerous seeing that when the water vaporizes in the combustion chamber it exerts additional force on the piston?
Then the next thing is would you recommend i do the cams at some point?
your suggestions are welcome, thanks
