HRmmm built Auto, or built 5speed. whatchyallthink?
First off.. Please no one say 5speed cuz its better for racing, cuz ur dumb, and thats not the truth. go to the track, no big boys use manuals. and yes i know fwd vs rwd autos arent the same. there is a big difference between a stock auto and built auto, not much changes for a 5speed unless u change the gearing.
Gimme what yall really think. everyone knows im an auto(err was)
still kinda split on the idea.
Cost... Well About even..
built auto, lookin around 3k
built 5spd, about the same, 3-4k
if i half ghetto it, and only do the basics and hope it doesnt break, then 1.5 for the auto and about 2 for the 5spd.
If i do a 5speed, ill go down to some 24.5x9 slicks instead of the 26s.
if i do a auto, nothing needs to change. and i can focus on the suspension and body work and getting the car repainted.
Everyone knows me as the auto guy.. keep on with it? see what i can do with it.. or dont try and join the clutch club and hope it doesnt break easilly also on hard launches.
Or.. just drop another stocker auto in there and let it rip(250$ and about 3 hours of work), see how long it lasts.. This one lasted 140k miles.. 40 of that turbo'd without any issues untill complete failure.(broken input shaft)

personally not a fan of auto.. I know most of the big guys run auto but come on.. monkeys can drive auto lol...
jks aside sounds like you should stay auto and I kind of feel your leaning that way anyway..
Also sounds like you should give another stock auto box a try.. see how long she hold.. if your breaking auto boxes every weekend then its probably time for a built box.. until then rock the stock!
