Dumb Question Evo Owner bought an OZ as a beater

Alright guys this is a dumb question maybe Ive been looking in the wrong spots but Ive been doing alot of research and is there any body who makes a manifold where you can bolt up a stock evo 8 turbo to a OZ Lancer. Ive got an EVO 8 (2005) With a GT35R set up and just bought an OZ For 2 grand. And seeing how I have an entire stock evo 8 turbo kit collecting dust in the garage I figured Ide try to throw it on. Also I had some WRX injectors I had laying around and threw those in there and they work like a charm so got plenty of full. (Kinda nice you can tune these with ecu flash) I really dont need much info just pointed in the right direction and I have searched and things are kinda cluttered. Thanks! Also if this ends up working Ill throw up some Ecuflash base maps if anyone else needs help with tuning there set up.

Read all the threads on the top of this forum and you would find your answer. 03lances is one. Otherwise search..... I think my thread is the only current one that isnt an evo turbo build.

we would all love to see some more roms. especially from an experienced evo tuner. we are always guessing on the timing haha.

speedcorps.com has one you could just bolt up to the oz and the 16g...

i recommend u poke around a few threads in here to see what everyone is doing... here is mine. I even used a megan evo manifold i bought for $50 just welded the old holes shut, traced the gasket and drilled new holes. also did a little grinding here and there on the manifold and turbo for clearance and better airflow trying to match head ports. I highly recommend throwing together a support.

take a look at a few pages in mine... https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/la...rbo-build.html

alright thanks guys speedcorps huh hell thats only 275 bucks Ill be buying that next friday. If thats the case this seems pretty simple. Ill see how things go and start a new thread with my experiences and install pictures and etc if I dont loose interest. My buddy had an OZ awhile ago with I believe a RRE turbo kit top mount set up with a dsm turbo. We threw some 04 WRX injectors in it an adjustable full pressure regulator and messed around with the tune and it was pretty damn peppy. Faster then a stock WRX on the highway and it was only on 8 psi. (This was back when I had my 2006 WRX). Only issue we ran into was the stock ecu only reading up to a certain amount of boost. Either A. the maf was maxed out or B something about the ecu not being able to comprehend load past 180 idk it was awhile ago Ive gotta do abit more research.

I was going to do the 35r turbo set up, and relized I'm better off with an evo. I have a parts list if you need it. Speed corps is the only place for a manifold. Everything else was a bolt on. I ran 17 pounds and my car was very fast. Tuning is easy idle is the hard part to correct, boost was limited due to stock maf use the stock evo 399 maf

awesome thank you sir! I was saying before though that I already own an evo with a 35r on it I bought the lancer as a beater car so I can finish my evo, but the lancer is to damn slow, awesome gas mileage though! Im really enjoying the car and it handles very well.

when you turbo the lancer you get both benefits of the car great gas and great power. you will loose a little bit of gas milage when you upgrade the injectors and a cam gear but it won't be alot. Just pm me when you need the list, also when you boost make sure your afrs are in line first before just going high in boost, a few members had to replace thier motors due to over boost. Start off with 5 pounds then slowly move up to 10 pounds. Stay with that for awhile then go to 12, then slowly up to 15 and stay there. If you feel comfortable with your car then go to 17. I await the day when someone beats my record of 17 pounds on a stock motor...

yes I am proud to claim this!!! it was a lot of hard work but could not be achieved with out the friends here on evom

Just for a heads up too the evo roms flash directly into that lancer ecu of yours. I have been running tephra v7 rom 94170715 for quite some time now. This eliminates the issues you had with your friends car I am also using the evo 399 maf as well. Look for senates thread on the evo ecu swap and just pay attention to the changes in the rom itself since the physical swap is not needed.

well technically he could use the evo 8 rom from the original evo, he would need to find the rom id and enter in the periphery and adjust his timing and it could help with the idle in theory.... this was my plan before I sold the lancer

Alot has changed since your friend has his lancer turboed. Many new developments and more experience in turboing the little brother. Make sure you post up your map once you figure it out.

I had no idea who could just run the evo 8 rom that is awesome! I currently have tephra on the evo 8 so shouldn't be to big of a deal. Yeah Ill def post up some maps Im no "professional" tuner by any means but Ill contribute to the community about to upload some pictures now as well. Im currently broke so all Ill be doing in the next couple of weeks is messing around with the na tune see if I can improve abit on whats already there. But Ill be converting to speed density on the evo so I can just throw the maf from my car on the lancer. This should prove to be fun. Thanks for all the info guys.

I'd also use the evo fpr.
Get larger injectors for e85 also if it's available in your area
