RRM turbo kit wastegate

can anyone tell me what the wastegate for the kit sounds like? the non-intercooled kit thx

It is very very loud.. Because it just has a dump tube.. Sounds like a jet taking off, that is how I describe it anyways. You can always have it routed into your exhaust if you want it quieter.. It won't cost you much, and you will hear your blow off valve a lot more.

But yeah, as the kit comes from RRM it is loud. I love it, it scares the hell out of people with their windows down and people on the sidewalk!

what do you mean like a jet? like a constant noise?? or it only makes noise when you let off the gas... for example my friends sr20's wastegate sounds like a pigeon literally when he lets off the gas...

No, that would be his blow off valve. Wastegates are on the exhaust side of the turbine and vent excess exhaust flow before it hits the turbine in order to prevent overboosting.

Yeah, they can be pretty loud. You're forcing exhaust throught a small tube with no baffling. Not for everyone.

whenever you reach your boost cut...if your boost is set to 6 psi then when it gets to 6 psi the wastegate opens a little to slow the turbine down to keep it a steady 6psi.

when you hit full boost it opens when you lift off the gas the sound s stopps and the bov goes off
