How much are you putting out for power now. Just curious, I used to have a G20 and it had the non turbo version kicking out 140 hp not a bad little engine. The Ka, isnt that the 2.4 liter engine in the older Altimas. Isnt the Ka known to be good and torque-y too? More so than the Sr20det..even tho that seems to be all you nissan guys choice of flavor ?

the KA was also in the 240's. I had the japanese Silvia engine imported and dropped in (a 240 is the american Silvia) the KA is pretty torquey. Put out like 160 or so at the crank. I haven't dynoed the car yet, but from what other people are putting down at the wheels with my mods, I should be in the 185-190 RWHP region.

SR's are chosen because of popularity. I ended up getting it cause of the bore/stroke reason. It's a smoother engine and it's set up better than a KA for turbo charging. Direct coil on plug ignition, side feed injectors, factory forged components, etc.

So an american sr20det is a different engine than the japanese version? I do know that a 240sx is just the american version of the Silvia . I was pretty sure that my g20 had a sr20det....non-turbo of course. So from what I gather is that nissan just makes 2 versions of this engine...one turbo'ed the other n/a?
