You really can't bypass the mass without some other deveice to measure air flow like a VPC.

WE DID NOT by-pass it. its still there...its on the intake side of the turbo. i would not recommend to make your own turbo kit. too much of a hassle and your just going to wind up spending more. this is coming from me which I pretty much made the turbo kit for my car. jus some minor adjustments here and there, but it was still a kit. BUY a KIT.

The hardest parts are the piping etc. Not just to connect them up but to route them in such a way as to not burn wiring, hoses, etc.
