Different turbo types

ok im planning to get a turbo, and right now im gonna get the rrm kit. But, ive done some searchs on the net and I found a couple of other turbo's for the lancer out there.

- Garret T25 Turbo, says it will up up the hp 250 out of box at 6-7 psi. and costs $2819

- Garret T25BB Turbo, says it will up the hp 280 out of box at 6-7 psi, and costs $3119

compared to the rrm turbo, it cought my eye. just wanted to see if any one knew bout it. thx

oh here is the link to the page if anyone wants to see it http://www.importperformanceparts.ne...itsubishi.html

Good luck on that... a T-25 will not add that kindof power at 6-9psi.

Those HP claims are downright outrageous. These kits have been discussed ad nauseum, and if you take the time to look at one of the older threads you'll see a lot of the comments that have been made. As far as I know they still remain to be tested and proven.

yes... and considering both of them are rated at 28-32psi you're never going to see those numbers. On the T-25 at 6 psi you'll see about 160-170whp on the 5speed. At 9 psi you should be about 190-200whp.

This is why most others use the T28 families.

Boe,

Could you post a "How to" on water cooling the turbo? Also, why not the BB type instead of journal? Speaking from a reliability issue, shouldn't the BB be better? Not neccesarily (sp) performace-wise....(I know there is very little in this category) I'm kinda concerned cause of the heat out here in Vegas...

A/Ts generate more heat that manuals do.

Probably ran lean. Generally speaking it's the only way you're gonna blow a motor aside from improper install.
