emanage-burning coil packs

hey, i've been looking in the evo forums a little and they're talking a lot about how the emanage may be burning up their coil packs. they're talking multiple coil packs in a week. has anyone with a turbo'd or supercharged lancer and emanage had this problem?

I have been running an e-manage for about a month now and no problems, if you leave the key in the on postion from a long time like listening to music, it fires the coils causing them to burn out , if the engine is running no problem.

I've seen this problem on mazda's... it comes from leaving the key in the accessory or on position without the engine running. Because we have igniter on coil (both the Mazda's and the Lancer use almost the same exact coil) the igniter can become overcharged and blow out/fry which is most likely what they are talking about...

well some of the evo guys supposedly have done it and not had problems... so it may be something else... you can check it by simply leaving the ignition key on for a while and checking the coils periodically with your hands to see if they are getting warm or not.. that will tell you if you have that problem.

Later.
